Walking back and forth from town to dungeon can be slow and repeditive by today's standards, but it's still an addicting, fun and very atmospheric game. I played this countless hours back in highschool, and I setup a GOG account just so I could play this again.

Torch and pitchforks won't help you here! Everything about the original Diablo made better by the fan community, in a way that no AAA industry would allow for with a modern title release! Call in sick to all you know, you will be in the depths awhile!

I'm not gonna lie, when I picked up the original copy for GOG, I was curious about why this game was so influential and fondly remembered. After an hour or so of getting into it, I just simply couldn't put it down. The gameplay may boil down to "click it until it's dead", but the mechanics, atmosphere, music and loot collecting got me hooked till the very end. With the edition of adding quite a few fixes, new classes and enemies with the Hellfire update, I can't reccomend this game enough. Give it a shot and play before you die.

I can tell you I lost so many hours of sleep in the 90's playing this game after work. Heck, I lost a few hours during work too.. . This was one of a few games that really consumed me. So fast forward to today.. Still a very fun game. Yes the graphics are dated and the game play is a bit clunky but that was part of the game that made it what it was. I have now turned my kids on to the game and have 3 of them hooked. For those wondering the old diablo trainers still work on this version and there is a free Mac frontend for the game if you own the files. Meaning purchase from GOG and download the free DevilutionX Mac front end and you can play the game with local multiplayer functionality. Note the Mac version does not support battle net. Well worth the $10. Thank you GOG.
