Description

While some of the big criticisms that people had with the original version of the game still stand, Deadlight: Director's Cut still feels like a fresh take on the zombie genre 4 years later. It probably isn't worth a return trip if you've already played the original game, but if this is your first time checking out the Deadlight world then this version is definitely the one to get.

Deadlight: Director's Cut looks fantastic and has a very intriguing storyline. Its platforming puzzles are also generally really enjoyable to solve. However, a few annoying gameplay flaws, occasionally awkward controls, and very short running time really take the edge off the experience, and ultimately the game falls short of its considerable potential.

Short but packed w/ atmospheric content
In the zombie-infested war-zone that has become Seattle, you play Randall Wayne, a husband and father, trying to find his wife and daughter. As you progress through the game, you pick up clues as to why the world is the way it is now, and meet a couple of characters, solving little puzzles to progress and occasionally learning to memorize patterns of repetitious key combinations to execute a series of moves that gets you through an area without dying. What strikes me about this game is the detail. The developer has crafted a really tight game with all of the scenery, music, acting and extras to evoke a dark, subtle horror environment. Every scene is gritty and overcast. It really brings you into the world and encourages you to experience every level without just trying to run through it as quickly as you can. There are less than 5 hours of gameplay here, but each hour is impressively packed with atmosphere and story. If you don't want to just run through and "beat the game", there is certainly enough extra stuff to enjoy along the way with a book full of clippings you pick up as you go, Randall's journal for some back-story, and director's cut extras such as concept art and "making-of" videos. The controls can get frustrating at times. I would often shuffle over a wall and try to jump down and end up shuffling back over the wall to the other side, for example. In some parts of the game, this can get you quickly killed. Starting from the last check-point will probably happen often--but the game is so well-done otherwise that I couldn't take a star off of the rating for it.

Pété de bugs et de crashs
J'étais heureux que gog fasse le cadeau d'offrir ce jeu que j'ai toujours voulu essayer sans franchir le pas. Grâce à ça, j'ai pu tester. Et je déconseille ce jeu à tout le monde. Il n'y a guère qu'une poignée de jeu qui ont réussi à faire sérieusement planter mon pc sous win7 de 2014. Celui en fait partie. Des bons gros crashs à répétition avec nul autre choix que redémarrer totalement le système. Une calamité. Ajoutez à cela des problèmes de performances, des bugs de son, une maniabilité flottante, des passages bien lourds... Même gratuit, c'est naze. Tant pis. Et tant mieux que je n'ais jamais mis un centime là dedans.

The second act was horrible
The first act was great , the second was utter dogshit and shouldn't have been in the game , I haven't even gotten to act three because two is so damn diffcult and shitty.

Something different
The game takes a different approach to zombie outbreak games in which you rely much less on firearms and more on escaping and running. It's a little short but it's worth the time.
