Nice comeback after 3 years
Cyberpunk 2077 v2.0 now is one of my favorite games to date, even though it's still rough on the npc AI and world physics compared to GTA or Watch Dogs.

Cyberpunk 2077 has come a long way.
The world is still shallow as hell, with nothing really going on in the background as you progress through it. No gang wars, corps fighting each other, NCPD being overwhelmed or anything like that. Yeah there's some instances where the gangs fight each other or the NCPD but they just feel like MMO encounters to me and don't feel dynamic at all which is a shame. Bugs are still a thing, even two years in and cars being stuck in the floor or flying still happens from time to time, not game breaking but seriously killed my immersion in some cases. Hell i played this on the Xbox one s on release, even back then before the patches and the sub 30 frame rate this game was beautiful and you can tell how much effort went into the detail of the city even if it is for show mostly. Now playing on my gaming laptop at ultra settings and man this game is eye candy to me, like i spent way too much time staring into puddles and reflective surfaces with RT on when i was playing round with the graphical settings and it's just gorgeous. Art style, lighting, particle effects etc everything just feels right. Went with the ultra settings with RT off though, still gorgeous just with a better frame rate. So, yeah i think anyone who wants to experience a fairly emotional story with interesting and compelling characters and some really decent side quests i think this a game for you. Had some crashes but that was because the overlay on GOG was turned on and i don't know if that was a driver issue or a game issue so i hope they fix that. This also plays great on my Series S so honestly performance shouldn't be an issue, still a demanding game though in places like jig jig and the aptly named stutter street but other than that I've had an above 60fps experience 95% of the time. I enjoyed it and i got my moneys worth, wish they didn't cut the story in half though :l

Really good game in 2023
I got it in 2023, so well into the later patches by then. As it is, it's a very good game. A cross between Deus Ex and Grand Theft Auto x. The story is good, side quests too, though some are samey. Missions are kind of linear, but there's plenty of choice in how you resolve them. And if you want, you can just ride/drive/run around Night City and its environs causing mayhem or being a good citizen. There's plenty of room for RPG, choices, character development and your interactions with others seem well constructed and their characters well developed. The fate of leading chracters matters, unless you lean towards the sociopathic. The whole Jonny Silverhand thing I thought would suck, but actually it works well. My PCs are old. I play it on a fx6300 with rx570 and fx8350 with rx580. Plenty of RAM in both. The game runs well. I've only had one fuzzy slowdown, but that resolved after about 10 seconds. I don't doubt that it would look better and be smoother with a new powerful PC, but it's great that they optimised it well enough for laggards like me. Edit: I've more recently been playing it on a Ryzen x3D with a rx7800xt GPU. As expected, the visuals are nicer turned up, but they still deserve credit for engineering a game that plays well on a wide range of hardware. I would add to my original review that the game maybe doesn't have the replayability of some RPGs, being more linear and samey, though I have played it all the way through twice which is more than I'll do for the vast majority of games. I still give it 4 out of five, but it's very nearly a five.

Cyberpunk is fantastic game
I am gamer from over 30 years and Cyberpunk restored my faith in gaming. If you after GTA sandbox then play GTA but if you after story, characters and much much more then Cyberpunk is for you.
