DO NOT LISTEN TO THE HATE

I picked this game up a few weeks ago after getting burnt out on gtao, the game I have most of my hours in. I have over 200 hours and counting on Cyberpunk 2077. I don't like the witcher games, not my style. Not only was I blown away at how incredible this game is, I felt cheated out of an awesome experience by listening to these hate bandwagon reviews, the majority made by the people who most likely haven't even played it. The story is one of the best I've ever experienced in a game and gameplay i.e gunplay/fighting/swords/hacking/cyberware etc are amazing! So fun! The music is dope. The NPCs they created (especially Panam) are the best, ever! The world is huge. It is honestly one of if not my favorite game ever. I've been playing it nonstop since I've picked it up on sale for PS5 (PS4), not even the best hardware to play it on but plan to pay for a full price digital copy soon to support the future of this game. They may have rushed it out and made some mistakes but I think they have learned from them and we should give them a chance to show + make it up to us. Any of the bugs that made the game unplayable at the beginning are now gone. If you haven't played it yet I suggest you give it a chance and stop listening to the bitter haters (being a gonk lol) like I did before. You are missing out on a masterpiece and only cheating yourselves. Thank you to the developers for creating such an epic game! That's all thank you! :)

great game

the rpg mechanics of this game are downplayed storywise, as in your basically the same person no matter what backstory you choose. the backstory only affects certain small diologue occurences, like if you a street kid some nomads will call you city boy/girl or say your not from around here but thats about it. crashing on a bike doesnt always throw you off either which makes driving one feel less annoying but also less realistic. braindances and certain similar somewhat cinematic scenes can be annoying as they cant be skipped. other than that i cant think of any problems i have had with this game. the story is great, the characters are likeable and the ones who dont seem likeable make the game feel more real. i understand if your skeptical about buying this game but most bugs are fixed and this game has by far the most beautiful city i have seen in any game. also for anyone lgbtq+ you have probably heard you can customize genetals and have a female body with a penis or a male body with a vagina or no genetals, but i bet you didnt know there is a convincingly trans person who talks about transitioning briefly, and by convincingly trans i dont mean a man dressed as a woman i mean a trans that looks like a woman. If I offended anyone im sorry didnt mean to.

rushed.

Terrible. You can really feel the game's been rushed, i'm not gonna talk about the disastrous state it was in when it came out, that's been done enough already. But even without considering the bugs and optimization issues, you can see this game was totally rushed. it needed easily one more year of development. - missing tooltips and just lack of overall in game information, that may sound benign but it actually is very crippling for the player, you don't know what weapon attachment fits on what type of weapon before buying it, can't preview items from crafting recipes.. so basically everytime you go to a vendor you have to save before, buy your stuff, see if it fits, reload if it doesn't ( and that's just ONE example of how crippling it is ) - lots of generic content, that's what happens when you rush a game, you fill the blanks asap. - characters weren't developped enough. - balance adjustments or game elements are clearly missing : you get a whole perk tree dedicated to LMGs and shotguns, yet there is only ONE LMG type in game, no iconic version and the only blueprint you can acquire for it is of low quality. which is to say you can't really use LMGs. it's obvious LMGs were supposed to be a part of this game as any other weapon type can be, the devs just didn't have time to implement these. I'm probably gonna stop listing there otherwise it's never gonna end, but i'd jsut say that for almost everything you see in game, you can feel it was rushed because the devs lacked time. you can still feel the original ambition to make a great game here and there, but it's hard to see through all of that rushed content. such a shame

Early hype train rider

I was a fan from the initial reveal, never played the pen and paper, didn't play witcher until 3 years after release, but I was sold on the setting and vibe of the trailer. I was disappointed by delays and lack of honesty/cut content. Hope it makes a complete return to what was shown, ie train system, removed skills and upgrades etc. I know it will never be what I originally thought in 2012, but it's pretty good for what it is when it works.

Good but not perfect.

After a considerable amount of patching the game is playable and nice little experience. While the story is somewhat decent it is a bit forgettable. Maybe if they had tightened the script and played with some of the more interested characters longer than just having them appear for a mission or two they would have made a bigger impact. Gameplay is hit or miss with some people and can be enjoyable or medicore. Ultimately now it's a 3.5 to 4 star game if you are generous like myself.
