The base game is meh, the story kept me in because I wanted to be in. I didn't sleep and spend days playing non stop which kept me away from all noice being made about the game flopping hard by the time i watched a vid on it i had already completed the game. From an ad to game perspective the game might as well be another game, the world doesn't feel alive besides its being pretty it lacks substance. Theres nothing to do in the city, driving isn't even enjoyable with the minimap being crap(so zoomed in you cant tell when the next turn will come until you're alrady a block away). The story was okay but has barely any actual rpg, you do what the game director wants you to. Theres very little you can say/do everything is already decided for you so it feels more like a single player story game like god of war or spider man where you're playing someone elses life which is fine does games are great but not when youre being told "you get to make decisions" and "this is your story". The game has bugs but honestly if thats all it had this would've of been a 4/5 until patches but the game is barely a hollow version of what was promised, the lack of simple real decision making, horrible hud, laughable performance on console, lack of any uniqeness, you can sleep trhough the combat nothing like what the gameplay trailers, and the worst part is the disrepect to the world no hair salons the stores they do have are just a box for an ugly menu, lack of vehicle types. the only good that came from this was the fact that people are more wary with pre orders.

This review at August 21st, 2021: What can I say about the game that hasn't already been said? People are pissed despite the updates, and so am I. I tried to like the game for what it is, I really did. But I can't, I just can't. This game was supposed to blow GTA V out of the water. At the end, it was just ruined by the executives who forced the developers to release it in a very unfinished state. I wanted to give this a 1-star rating, but to show my respect for the developers, I will give it a well-deserved 2-star, and that isn't even harsh. Even with the updates right now and the free DLC, they are all just band-aid solutions. This is the first time I've ever pre-ordered a game, and then this is what happens. You've lost my trust, CDPR. Call my review a mere rant, call it whatever you want, but here's the thing, have you ever considered how ridiculous the game is right now despite the recent updates? CDPR, are you mocking your customers?! -Broken AI -A crappy police system -Bland characters -I am most disappointed about Stout's route. Like, wtf?! You dropped the ball with that -All of it really seems rough and very incomplete, not worthy anyone's time and money -From what I've heard, your concurrent players are only 10k. Everyone has moved on. You have a lot of catching up to do. -Stop with this "News Flash" gimmick of presenting your updates. You people think that you can "humor" your way out of the current state of the game. -By some dumb luck, I really hope people forget about this game, so they wouldn'rt get pissed by what it should have been. This has all been a very hyped game that wasn't able to deliver at all. I have a lot more to list, but it would take me the whole night to list it all down. You guys (CDPR) aren't getting my money again with your upcoming games. Mark my words. I will be getting them from the bargain bin or "3rd party-sellers."

This game is still way to buggy. constantly crashes, sound clips dont play, weapons disapear, npcs get the T pose with no head. Such an ambitious game but completely unplayable, keep your money in your pocket this game is a waste of time and money still

I've been holding off on this game because of the initial backlash and decided it to pick it up on sale due to boredom. I guess CDPR really hasn't learned a thing in the 10 months they've been getting lambasted publically. The glitches are still there, in the 6 hours I've played I've had a game breaking bug in that my wanted level all of a sudden spiked for no reason when I got around my apartment. I had to revert to a previous save on that one. I've also loaded back into a save only to have my car just not move, it's like sitting in a brick. Loaded another save and resummoned the car which for some reason is now behind a red police cordon and I can't drive out of it. Speaking of police tape, I can't walk through the yellow variety despite a stairwell being on the other side I could really use to finish a mission. This isn't even counting all of the random characters walking through crap and vehicles floating just off of the ground glitches. But what about the game itself? It is very pretty but runs at a max of around 65 frames 1080 on my 3060ti. That's acceptable but i can't imagine how it runs on a 10 or 20 series card. The UI is a straight up mess and the game doesn't do much to walk you through it. The map is a straight up mess of cluttered crap as well and unless i plan on spending the next day and a half reading tool tips or googling I guess I'm just gonna be lost. The guns do basically no damage to anyone headshot or no headshot and the stealth requires you to pick up bodies as a second movement. Maybe that's an upgrade but I've been through the first few upgrades in each tree and was so bored that I'm not going to look any further. I have better things to do anyway like run from the police or that rando that's shooting at me because I drove by with that look on my face I can't see because reflections don't work 10 MONTHS AFTER RELEASE. Overall if you're still reading this and thinking hmm should I buy this game, the answer is no a straight emphatic no.
