Description
Cuphead, c'est un jeu de plates-formes/action dans la pure veine « run and gun », avec un goût prononcé pour les combats de boss épiques. Cuphead made me feel more good and more bad than any other game I've played in the last several years. I swore, laughed, and hollered with delight. I hated it (and my own fingers) for long stretches but, having finished, I realise that's more or less the point – I emerged from all that pain smiling. Rather than simply offering the player what they want, Cuphead makes them earn that right – the rewards, if you can hack the tests, are absolutely worth it. Cuphead is incredible for more than just its looks. But before you dive in, make sure you actually want a game that plays like this, and not just a game that looks like this.

The Epitome of Style Over Substance
I'm so very disappointed. I was really hoping this game would seamlessly merge amazing aesthetics and brilliant gameplay, but it unfortunately only nailed the aesthetics part. The game play is okay. It isn't terrible, but it's utterly bland and generic. There is nothing new here nor is it very fun. The only reason to play this game is to watch it and see the graphics which as we should all know by now does not make for a good game. The devs really should have invested more time on the controls, mechanics, and overall game design because as it stand all their hard work on the art is pretty wasted on a completely mediocre game. Maybe they'll nail it with Cuphead 2.

Lots of style, but little substance
This game feels mediocre at best. Yes, the unique art style helps it stand out, but that's it.. Of course aesthetics are completely subjective thing - some will like it and some not. I don't, but I can definitely see the appeal of the game and also the passion invested in making the game. Sound: Awesome music, fun sound effects with cute little throwbacks to the 1930 animations. It accomplishes what it's trying to do. Difficulty: Youtubers with questionable competence will tell you the game is super hard. It isn't. It's difficulty is adequate. By far not the hardest bullethell out there. If the supposed "very punishing" label slapped on this game is the only thing that stop you from buying it - don't sweat it. You'll be fine. Gameplay; Honestly it's quite dull. Surprising given that the game focuses on boss battles! The enemies (both regular and bosses) have no reaction to your attacks until their HP hit zero. And this is one of the reasons for the combat to be so unsatisfying. Neither platforming levels nor boss battles stand out with anything but the art style. Once you've seen the cute hand drawn world and characters it all boils down to a basic run of the mill bullethell, we've seen a thousand times before and we'll see a thousand times after. Unenjoyable and boring might be strong words. but they are also accurate. Story: Practically none is present, but to be fair none is needed with the specific theme of the game. Replay value: Replayability pretty much doesn't exist here. No reason is given to the player to go back and defeat the bosses again. None. This is my opinion. It is no way universal and I am in no way correct. It's all subjective. BUT please watch some gameplay (don't worry there is nothing to spoil for yourself) and check in your mind if you share any of my thoughts BEFORE BUYING THE GAME.
