Wonderful all around!

Usually hand-drawn games are just okay-games, and you play them for the art, which after a while gets old. None of that here! First, the art itself is ASTOUNDING. Room after room, there is something neat to discover in the backgrounds, and the animations are super cute; it's a pleasure just to zoom in and inspect the little details. But as a puzzle platformer, Creaks is also very fun and very polished. The different elements are introduced in an easy puzzle, then get combined and complicated into satisfying head-scratchers, so that you set up to play a couple levels and before you know it you've gone for 2 or 3 hours. There is a very neat story, told almost wordlessly through little animated cutscenes. Despite the name, though, the game is not creepy, but humorous in a very original way. Just the way the characters look and act, and the weird collectibles you find along the way made me smile constantly and sometimes laugh out loud. Also worth mentioning is the music, a breezy, jazzy score that, instead of emphasizing the danger, kicks up when you solve a puzzle: it feels as if the band is celebrating with you! All in all one of the most delightful games I've played this past year. I'd like to do a pro-con, but I literally can find no negatives, it's just a work of love, a little gem through and through.

Best Amanita Game

They are all great and I have the utmost respect for Machinarium, but this one is their best so far. Great puzzles, great music, great gameplay flow. Immaculate atmosphere.

Experience Adventure

A wonderfully made light hearted and engaging adventure filled with creative and challenging puzzles unique story and truly amazing graphics. Amanita set the bar to the roof as far as the platform puzzle genre is concerned. This game is a testament to the hardworking innovative game designers. 10/10 Its evident that the crew making the game had a lot of fun in the process and personally I really enjoyed the experience. Definitely scratched my head more then a few times. and challenging games is what my generation lived for. A pleasure

Another fun game from Amanita Design

I have played almost all their games, and each of them is a source of pure joy every time you complete it. Some people say this isn't a "true Amanita Design" game and that the studio has lost ther vision or something.. ignore them. No studio has ever made success by making the same game over and over (Pirahna Bytes games fans are probably going to disagree). The story unfolds slowly as you descend deeper and deeper into the underground world, and I love the fact that Amanita Design were able to tell it purely by worldbuilding and without a single word, whether written or uttered. I loved how each new puzzle element is first introduced to you in a simple single-step puzzle, and I didn't feel like any of the puzzles was too obtuse. Some of the mini-games may feel like that, but, like in any puzzle game, a bit of experimentation will always help you figure everything out. The visuals? This in an Amanita Design game, they are always great :D Everything is hand-drawn, and the detail level is astounding, especially the moving bits in every scene. The game is truly an eye candy if you love art. Sound design is also great -- every time you move closer to solving the scene, you will hear a chime, and music will start playing more lively. The music is top notch, by the way, I really liked some of the tracks, and they would probably be great to listen to on their own. Overall, this is very chill game that doesn't take much time to complete. I mostly play such games to "clear the palate" after completing a big game before starting another one, but I'd happily play Creaks once again. Well done!
