Game crashing bugs.
Durring "ANCHOR" boss fight if the boss hits ground units the game crashes. Checked many solutions but it turned out that the problem is actually "bad coding".
Only solution found was to set game to one-shot-kill and clear enemies before boss can hit them. Just at the end of fight (small health portion) the boss hits more erratic and enemy ground forces spawn randomly. The bug will then crash the game as soon as boss shoots at any enemy ground unit.
Reproducing and testing this bug was very easy and it felt like developer did not care about users experience enough to deal with such bugs.
Besides above, the game feels like tech demo (which failed at some point) and gameplay is very repetitive.
I have to wonder if all these people who've given this game great ratings and reviews have actually finished it. I can barely get through the side missions for getting new powers without raging after dying or the clock running out at least 100 times. I think it's all bs. In other words, this is a game you want to like, but, just can't get around all the problems that are preventing you from doing so.
The game is good, but for me it was a meh or annoying to continuing playing after a few hours, the main plot of the game is the boring part of the game, but the secondary mission is what make me continuing playing the game and not excluding the Alan Wake DLC, the other one was not bother finished or interested to played. All the items in the facility are what any fan from the SCP series may enjoy to watch and read, a lot of the document are interesting to read mainly to know what they say, but considering the big4$$ number of documents in the game are I got overwhelm after reading a few of them, and just keep playing and graving them to not miss one part of a mini story or a classify document.
One thing that makes me stop carrying about exploring the facility is the lack of reward the moment you found a secret area and the game rewards you with a document about the world, upgrades for your weapons or your character and receiving that sound of reward and progress, something like the Metroid games after getting an upgrade from your health or missiles. Most of the things in these areas are a flat upgrade for you, your weapons, or a document, and that makes me feel I waste my time exploring the areas.
And just to rant a little bit, I cannot understand why they do not fix the boss fight against the anchor, after trying to find what cause that fight to crash or make not crash, I need to make the resolution go the lowest I can, all sound to 0 and pray to Jesus the fight does not crash. After a few tries I defeat the boss, but I cannot steal understand why they fixed or changed in the version of the game, the game is “Control Ultimate Edition” not “Control, the DLC’S, not fixing some stuff & goodies.”
They are more stuff I want to say but I feel some are just nitpicks from my part.
I've just completed Unknown Caller mission and have unlocked using skill points, Shatter weapon and such. Now onto the next mission in the Maintenance Sector. Upon loading into this level, my character could not move, I could not access either the main menu or the loadouts menu. I could not do anything at all other than to force close the game.
I launched the game again and continued, only to find my progress wiped and back to before the Tomassi fight. You're telling me the game didn't save at all between the fight and after finishing the mission? (I dunno maybe an hour or more). I also backtracked to open clearance level 1 loots and you're telling me I have to do it all again? I'm afraid the result will be the same, so I just won't bother. Shame, I was enjoying the gameplay.
I played control on a different platform before. The Ultimate Edition on GOG has problems with saves. If you die, the most recent save is deleted and sends you to the previous save. If you quit the game, the recent save is deleted and it sends you to a previous save.
I wanted to re-play the game to finish the DLCs, but I can't.
