Votre nom est Rania. Aujourd'hui est votre première nuit de travail pour Cloudpunk, une entreprise de livraison semi-légale basée dans la mégalopole tentaculaire de Nivalis. Vous explorerez toute la ville, des bas-fonds de la Moelle aux hautes tours qui percent les nuages gris pour atteindre les limites de la troposphère. Aucune mission n'est trop périlleuse, car personne n'est aussi rapide qu'un livreur Cloudpunk.
Ce jeu cyberpunk à base scénaristique vous fera rencontrer toute une série de personnages hauts en couleur, dont des androïdes, des IA et des humains sans scrupules, à tous les échelons de la société. Tout le monde a une histoire et en l'espace d'une nuit à Nivalis, tout va changer.

Not everyone might enjoy the toned down gameplay and the driving could be better, although this was improved a lot with City of Ghosts, but Cloudpunk hooked me in ways no other game has in a very long time. The writing is great, the atmosphere and sense of place are incredible and I did a 180 on the voice acting, which I ended up loving. City of Ghosts was a very welcome addition to conclude Rania's storyline.
Sometimes I get the itch to revisit every nook and cranny of Nivalis - one disappointment is that I just wish I could randomly pick up the pad, fire up my HOVA and do a randomly generated delivery mission.
OK, I'm a Fallout 2/3/NV player, I really enjoy Fortnite and loved Van Helsing trilogy. Cloudpunk was delightful. An excellent way to show that enjoying a game doesn't involve massacring hordes or endless inventory management.
It's very pretty. The sound is good. The voice acting is fine. The story has some depth.
I think I completed it in 10 hours and immediately bought City of Ghosts - I'm waiting to pre-order the sequel Nivalis.
So, I got this game because I thought it sounded good. A story-driven game to chill with; driving a hover car and delivering parcels on a dystopian city, what's not to love? And let me tell you this, the city of Nivalis, the atmosphere of the game, and driving are really well done. Non-stop rain, a great FPV, the constant humming of the other vehicles around you... even the pixel art is fitting!
There's one big problem though, the story is abysmal at best. You're this, holier than thou i**ecile who's just arrived to Nivalis from "The East" and who is apparently expecting a red carpet and everything to just fall from the f***ing sky. And yes, you ARE this character, because right away you will notice you have no choice in what Rania says in her interactions; you're just in for the ride. Was a dialogue option too much to ask? This leaves the player with just the choice of driving to point A or point B.
Regarding the dialogues, most of them are drawn-out, boring, and very inconsistent. You'll have Rania talk to someone, lecture them about what they should or shouldn't do, and when asked for help she'll say it's none of her f***ing business; so pretty much like contemporary activists. If you're not going to do anything or help in any way, then why are you meddling to begin with, you little tw*t? Again, if I had a say in it, I'd be invested, but I don't. This is a constant problem with the game, to such extent that I started to strongly dislike Rania and make decisions that I thought were antagonising to her character. Sure, I'll save the posh idi*ts and let the doctor die.
The final nail in the coffin is how this game is self-contradicting. This is a ruthless city run by sc*mbags. However, our whiny hero, who has no skills, has managed to refurbish her apartment and bought a lifetime supply of pizza within her first shift.
I was going to buy the DLC, but after playing the base game I'm going to give it a hard pass. It only gets 2 stars because the city is good.
Mostly very frustrating finding your way around.
The minimap doesn't help much, and walking around on foot is like a maze!
You can't pass the lowest of obstacles, and there will be lots of walking around and around and around to get where you want. Often you'll have landed on the wrong parking spot (usually 2-3 different ones around the spot you are going to) and then you need to get back to the car and land on another parkingspace 100 meters away. Then out again and walk around these maze-like paths, sometimes with elevators to make it even more of a hassle.
Sometimes, while looking for the correct way, you might see a 1 meter opening somewhere - enough for even the biggest of persons, but no way to squeeze through those!
Except all these traverse/transport/map-problems the game feels good, with very nice music and good voice acting and a cool athmospheric setting. Slow and relaxing, no rush and no action...
...as far as I got anyway, I gave up though after a few hours, looking for some machine that couldn't be found...
