Take the wheel as Max Damage as you plow scores of vehicles unlucky enough to be in your way. With a white-knuckled grip on the wheel, you’ll have the choice of 23 crashmobiles (from a terrifying monster truck to a high octane Dragster) and 30+ levels of hellish fury and motorized terror.
Carmageddon was surrounded by huge controversy. A game about mowing down innocent race cars and getting points for it was not exactly something the world was prepared for back when it released. However, all this noise just made everyone talk about this title even more and it's evident that behind all this fuss there is actually an extremely fun game with very unique and crazy gameplay. Now you can experience it for yourself in its full, original, glory.

Attention all competitors...
Like some other commentors here, I'm also reviving my childhood with this game. Thanks to GOG because the original refused to install on later windows versions. This game was so wicked, punk, pure fun and it still is. Some maps offer insane jumps that are capable of making my stomach twist like no other game ever could. And next, when thinking 'oh no, I'm gonna crash sooo hard', you even get rewarded for your cunning action. Wonderful! Yeah, the graphics are old and probably 256 colored, but I wouldn't want it any other way. That's part of the charm. With today's better graphic, I believe this game would lose its soul. One minor I'm experiencing, is that I can't turn off the music or even put it any softer. Even though the soundtrack is not that bad, it becomes somewhat annoying after hearing it over and over again. And all of the other sounds are pushed away because of that. That's a pity because I would play the game mor often if I could simply turn the music off.

Classic - still good
I don't know why exactly but this game from 1997 is still fun and good in 2024 You can play it in nostalgic pixelated software mode, or Voodoo-card enabled

I love Carmageddon!
The hours of fun this game gave me are priceless, and the DOSbox version runs pretty well, just a minor slowdown here and there.
