Carmageddon Max Pack

Plain and simple: I totally don't enjoy racing games but I enjoyed this game alot!

In my opinion the graphics are still amazing after all these years, I really like the classic 3dfx look where you have sprites and 3D objects combined in the game, I think it results in a more beautiful look than in the sequel. The gameplay is fun, the things that I like the most is that I can always hop on for just one more race. The reason why this game is fun is because the insane stunts, the different pickups and the gore during the race. Also, combined with the expansion, there is a huge selection of tracks and they are very different. There are always issues though: - the game is way too easy - the AI is way too dumb. Sometimes it just stops on the middle of the road. I am not sure if this was an issue in the original version or an issue with dosbox. - after the first few races there are new tracks, the tracks of the expansion are available from the expansion only, a combined list of tracks would be better

When I was that bit younger, enjoying pushing toy cars off grassy banks and melting toys together this beautiful game came out. Many days were then spent indoors running over cows and and trying to perfect my jumps. I got the splat pack on an old magazine front cover and then i cried, so much blood. If you love chaos and terrible cars you must play this. It is still the best of the series

Don't be fooled into thinking this is a racing game. Technically, you do race but the AI drivers have no chance in winning. That's not a bad thing, it's much more fun driving around smashing into pedestrians (awesome sprites!), looking for power-ups and demolishing the other cars. The one downside is the progression, you unlock new tracks by increasing your rank but after a while you have to play old tracks again to rank up. That's not a huge deal but it was a bit of a pain for me. Luckily cheats allow you to unlock everything easily so you're free to kill however you want. I definitely recommend picking up Carmageddon.

Sometimes you just need a game where you can just shut your brain off and go on an unholy rampage. If you love the movie Death Race 2000, this is an unofficial tie-in of sorts, to a Death Race sequel that never materialized. Even though this is a "racing" game, making it to the finish line isn't the only way to win. You can wreck your opponents cars, or run over all the pedestrians, and boy do they make a gooey mess when you do! While the graphics look very dated, due to being from that early 3D era, its still a very solid game, with lots of great stages and satisfying action.
