Enjoy the sweet peace of organising books and customising your new home, all while unpeeling centuries of history from the occult stones about you.

The Librarian's influence extends far beyond the walls of Hush House. It's up to you to determine how history is written.



In this 20 - 40 hour game, you'll:

ACQUIRE, RESTORE and CATALOGUE occult books, scrolls and curiosities.

STUDY the nine Wisdoms, and conquer the nine Elements of the Soul.

GUIDE visitors who come seeking your assistance, choosing their paths and stories.

RESTORE a vast crumbling edifice built on the foundations of an ancient abbey.

WREST your past from obscurity. Choose from nine different Legacies which determine who you are. You might be a Magnate, abandoning wealth to seek peace. Or an Archaeologist, fleeing the curse you awoke. Or perhaps your origins are more esoteric, like the Symurgist, or Twiceborn? Each playthrough offers different opportunities.

Excellent puzzle game

The game design is nothing that's common. A little sister of Cultist Simulator that's a lot more kind than the older brother. Perfect if you enjoy mystery and puzzles

Probably the best solitaire ever

TL;DR - the title. Feedback below, dear devs, based on 200h: 1. I like the writing. Although the Cultist had darker tones of texts, which I was enjoying more. 1. Red herrings are a bit much - I recall that a hen's egg evolved under Transformations & Transfigurations and a significant Moon aspect. That was a lie. 1. I didn't figure a lot of formulas - for moth, some 15-level stuff. 1. Cooking was a particularly difficult thing. So many books, not a single cookbook! 1. Languages acquisition is a bit random. All I can do is sit around and wait patiently. 1. ...unless you are lucky and find a random numa ink laying around in a cache, and figure it out from there. Paradoxically numian visitors are much more regular and reliable. 1. The key could be a knock-aspected tool methinks. 1. I think that I have missed some numina. I did find the one hidden underground because a key was a possible ingredient. 1. It seems that some aspects are better than others. Like, at the end I had a half of a bookshelf of moon books, each with a different moon-related memory. 6 memories like that. For edge it was a half of that. 1. Hints for 10-aspect recipes are a lifesaver. 1.Mazanine fife and numapears are a gamechanger. 1. Finding 15-aspect recipes seems impossible sometimes. If the hint is a single line in a book or two, hidden among red herrings... welp. I am helpless. I needed more and clearer ones, I guess. 1. I have used so much wormwood dreams. 1. The priest is the best nectar-and-forge-aspected help. Weirdly better than an orchardkeeper or the smith. 1. I did not piece together what has happened, only some glimpses of the lore. I don't mind, I felt the vibe and it was enough. But if that's a result of ~200hours, then the writing could be a bit too obscure. 1. I wanted more from the books, I think. The description + 2 lines seemed fine, bu... honestly? I would pay 15 bucks for book illustrations DLC.

Needs a Tutorial - Slow and Tedious

I suppose if you want a quiet, dull night in, this game is for you. This game needs a tutorial. The lack of a tutorial is incredibly frustrating. It has complicated card mechanics that are not obvious at all. It took me 30 minutes just to figure out how to open the first door/get off the beach up into the village. Once you get into the house/library proper the game feels very railroady. For those of you not familiar with the term, it means you're locked into one story track and there is no room for deviation. The lack of inventory tracking options is frustrating. The zoom in/out functions to see the various rooms seems to be locked into specific presets that are not necessarily optimal depending on what type of computer/computer monitor setup you are using. As far as the plot. I had expected something a little more exciting than what I've seen. As someone who is a completionist, I probably will, if I decide to devote the many hours apparently required to complete this game, read all the books/uncovered materials. I have a friend, however, who would not. This game is not for people who like to rush through to the end. The village mechanics are odd/obtuse. I've spent more time in the tavern than anywhere else, and the NPCs I've picked up there seem relatively useless. I mean, why would I need two poets on the same day? Makes ne sense. And the tavern folks are EXPENSIVE to hire. Money making in the game is not obvious/seems tied to random unpredictable mechanics. The trailer for the game is excellent and makes the game play look mysterious and exciting. However, it doesn't really represent the actual gameplay, making the game seem a lot more exciting than it is. I wish the trailer for the game were more honest. I don't feel that the $47.16 price is warranted for the base game and its expansion. This game is would probably be better priced at $20 or less. I wanted to love it, but I didn't. #Disappointed

Cozy, with egigious note taking

I like this game, I like the setting. The music is soothing, the exploration is fun. There's always another puzzle. BUT, the external note taking requirement, or having the wiki open is...I played MYST back in the day, you had to keep track of things. So too here, with the various work benches and what supliments they will allow you to use. But. Here, you also have dozens of skills and to see their *already discovered* recipies you need to slot them into a workbench with a soul card. And before the update you needed to keep external track of what each book gave you. Now at least you can label your bookshelves; but the very fact that it needed an update is an indicative about the design theory behind it. The game needlessly externalizes things, making it more of a hassle for no reason.
