An absolute classic

I will say this: Beneath a Steel Sky is not a 21st century video game. I would know since I was born in the 31st century. The graphics are not the best, and the later puzzles that the game incorporates are almost too tough for a modern day gamer to actually complete without a walk through (I needed a walk through desperately at some points) . But whoever says that the game is terrible is completely wrong. I'm only 13 but I absolutely loved this game. The humor and the story were both astounding, the puzzles were very clever, and the game itself was amazing. However, if you are not a fan of classic video games, this game is NOT for you. If you don't like point and click games, DO NOT TRY IT. But if you are a curious 13 year-old who wants to get a decent game for free, I would check this one out.

Fine example of Retrofuturism art style!

Beneath a steel sky is one obscure gem, almost unique in its display of retrofuturism art style and cyberpunk feeling. That being said, the gameplay & its story are alright: they fit the tone of the adventure, although interactable objects, sometime, tend to ''blend in'' with the environment, makin' it difficult to see them altogether. Plus, i felt like the story was too ''rushed'', jumping through plot-point to plot-point. Beyond that, considering the time of its release, it's a solid game that even comes with its own guide in the installation folder! ( used it only a few times, I swear it) P.S. c'mon, it's free guys, it's a nice experience that everyone can afford!

Not so great, but not too bad =)

For anyone who hasn't played the game before (like me - got it as a free download) it's a typical point-and-click/get-that-and-use-it-there type of game. The story is pretty interesting as far as futuristic sci-fi goes and the graphics are average for the time. This game is worth playing if only for the terrible voice overs/acting that come up throughout play. It's got everything: bad accents, poor delivery, a bad script... you get the idea. Pretty happy I didn't pay for it, but it's good for a freebie =)
