Great game!
Great game that would be even better with a few minor UI tweaks. I have played far too many hours compared to what my work/family life really affords these days.

Great game. Many hours of fun!
As the title says, you're in for a treat. My recommendation: Play the vanilla game first. If you've done that, start modding for endless possibilities of smooth and relaxing city builder fun. (: 5 Stars for a very nice game with only ups no downs imho :>

I have this on Steam
My first modern gaming experience was not mmos, it was city builders. I was an avid fan of Sierra/Tilted Mills historical city builder series. And even without combat, conquest and all that like most games, Banised scratches the city builder itch quite nicely. The modding scene is pretty extensive too... if you get it on GoG you might have to use a workshop downloader (not sure).

Captivating and a bit scary
The game does an incredible job of helping you sympathize with the outcasts you're caring for. You have to be patient, since making mistakes can result in mass starvation or freezing. But as long as you're responsible, you have a good chance of taking care of the original outcasts, and their growing families. The game is engrossing, with a gradually increasing difficulty that does not require you to fail over and over before you are able to take care of your first few people.
