Brilliant
Packed with content, this is a wonderful old school rpg in the vein of divine divinity, with crafting and survival to boot. I fell under the spell of this game fast. It has a lovely slower pace, and the map is packed with things to explore and collect. Well done to the devs on this game. The story is quite emotional and interesting as well. This is old school rpg heaven at its best.

Really old school but makes sense
Combat can be frustrating at times. Solution for me was using my pet as tank. Leveling is really slow from 3 -> 4. You only get a tiny amount of XP killing monsters. You meet hard content that you have to leave until you are stronger. Making markers on the map is really helpful. Exploration is fun with some puzzles here and there. All and all a really fun experience!

A grindy slog after the great intro
Balrum starts strong as a hardcore survival game with old school influence and charming graphics, however I feel like there is a quick falloff not far into the game's story. Characters start to have nothing to say, your ability to build is restricted to some strange pocket dimension, and you quickly find yourself griding and fighting for any little bit of progress. I really dislike the disconnect between your pocket dimension and the rest of the world, so if that doesn't bother you, you may enjoy this game more. I was excited to find the perfect plot of land outside of town to start making a house, and quickly realized that isn't possible. NPC's wind up as decoration painfully fast, often having only a few lines of dialogue before becoming statues. Considering this whole game revolves around like 2 towns, that also started to chip away at my interest. Maybe they get more dialogue with the game's story. After some time with the game I feel like I would have loved it had it dropped the main story completely and just focused their time on fleshing out the world, characters, and our place in it.

Good game but feels unfinished
I really enjoy that game, but it feels like budget ran out at some point. The beginning is rich and captivating, but as you progress, content dwindles, choices become narrow, and the game becomes quite repetitive. Still, a very good experience, and well worth the money. If I was to write my own game, it would probably be something like that.

Oldschool gaming
Greate old school RPG! It's not your usual easy win game. (If you choose the harder difficulty) I really enjoy the quests (both main and side quests) The sound and the graphic style are really good. Overall I like the game a lot!
