Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II

This a port of a game that would otherwise be incredibly difficult to play legally. Not sure what's wrong with the reviewers heads here, the game released on Steam as well and people understand it's a perfectly fine game with a reasonable price for what it is. Giving a game 1 star because it costs 5 dollars too much or something is childish and crazy, let alone thinking GOG is at fault when its not even an exclusive release.

I don't get it. I see a lot of reviews here trashing the game just because of the price. You do know that its like half the price of buying the original game these days right? Especially this one if you want the ps2 version. That's not to mention having the working hardware to play it legit these days. I know they can be emulated and I've played them like that plenty of times myself but these games have been hard to emulate overall and still aren't exactly perfect. The engine they were made with has lots of issues with pcsx2 especially. I give it 4 stars cause it IS a great hack and slash game from the xbox/ps2. All the games made with this engine are good, with Champions of Norrath Return to Arms probably being the absolute best. These games are also quite hard. Enemies are relentless and hit like trucks. HP is definitely you're highest stat priority. But yeah... Amazing game. Decent price. Can't speak to this port personally cause I haven't played it. (I own them all on ps2.)

I have both games on the original console. They were, as I remember, average in all aspects and mildly boring. The game experience was generally not very different from other hack and slash. Can t figure out the enthusiastic reviews. But hey, if you can spare the crazy asking price at release, go for it.

It's a game from around the turn of the century with little updating save for making sure it runs well enough not to cause an avalanche of returns. If this doesn't constitute a cash grab then maybe loot boxes really are 'surprise mechanics'

I literally have been yearning to play BG 1&2 for the longest time, and have been holding out for a discount until just last weekend where I got BG1. It's just as good as I remembered. Then this comes out and its a happy little accident as bob Ross would call it. Can't wait to get back into playing this again after I beat the original. Some on here are trolling about price, but aren't reviews supposed to be about the quality and characteristics of the game? Fun fact, if you don't like the price of something, you don't have to buy it. Don't besmirch the rep of this gold nugget of a RPG and influence others purchasing decision simply due to your frugality. Shameful.
