Not quite horror
Average, it goes back and forth between horror, minor jokes, and full on 4th wall breaking towards the middle and end. It felt like playing the journal of a frustrated dev (whose also in the game) trying to perfect game development; bluntly pushing that it's all just a game with direct references to the older games. It had some charm to it but I can't say it grabbed me, once games do the 4th wall break and push it hard I lose alot of interest so maybe this isnt the game for me.

Will Confuse You
I can't put my finger on what I'm trying to say here but I feel the game is too confusing very early on and not because the puzzles are hard but because I don't know what to click or which screen to be on. The magnifying glass helps but I still found myself not knowing how to progress even after clicking literally everything on screen. The game is fun but too many early problems for a casual like myself.

Interesting in its own way
It's more of a manifesto for the game's creator, a project intended to reflect his feelings than simply another installment in the series. We have a rather interesting world here, which serves as a meta-narrative, and Elle, a girl who accompanies us and helps us until the very end. The graphical style is richer, the puzzles are somewhat simpler, and there's much less outside-the-box thinking, but a significant portion of the game still relies on clicking everything possible. There's still no backlighting, but Elle frequently prompts us immediately on what to do and doesn't leave much room for second thoughts. There's a fair amount of backtracking, as many items become interactive only after we've performed specific actions. Despite all these flaws, I think the story is interesting to explore, and even if this game is inferior to the previous one in some respects, it's worth giving it a chance.
