The original and best.

this is where the franchise started for me and remains the jewel in the crown of the franchise, sure they added much in other installments of the franchise, but focus here is the game got it right from day one, an open world stealth game, it does have world limits but you rarely see them, the game being first of its name, focusses on a more simple ideal, you play Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad the hero of the entire franchise and sadly only in this chapter, though the story links between games very well. Altaïr performs all the tasks the other games show, that make this series what it is. well written story, the arc links well and seamlessly. personally I miss playing Altaïr, and the era he was in, Ezio was great, but for me they over used him. everything that makes Assassin's Creed the epic game series that it is, is right here in this game, anything else is icing on the cake. why people love AC2 and seem to hate this one is beyond me, they are both fantastic, and I really do not care because simply this is the start of it all and it was done right in the first place.

A good game that has a nice story.

In the beginning, I had a good experience with the game. But time passed and the stories started to sound a little repetitive... AC1 is a good game that has a nice story with missions that become repetitive over time.

Interesting but then crashes.

I was having fun, and it was entertaining. But then it crashes every time after performing an assassination and while escaping. The main thing you should get when you purchase a product is that the product works. If that fails the rest is nothing.

Always been there, always has been!

Skip this one, for it is the incarnation of Ubislop it is today: eternal tutorials that teach you nothing of value, keep you hand-holding a frustrating amount of time and have you unlock your arsenal along the way. It was innovative back in the day, but with all the progression we made along the way, it really feels very dated!

Such a disappointment

On the paper, Assassin's Creed seems great. The premise alone gives me wet gamer-dreams. Playing as an assassin in the 12th century, with free-roaming and the alleged possibility of choosing how to take down you target, combined with a interesting sci-fi plot? Yes please! Sadly, what we are left with is nothing short of a huge disappointment. The plot starts out interesting, but gradually loses it's freshness, and all the flaws shows. Hopefully the story picks up stronger in the successors, but I do not know. The main negative point with AC is the gameplay itself though. We are given the illusion of free will in AC. Before each main target execution, Altair must gather information about the target, through terribly dull and repetitve small-missions (seriously, they are the same for each target). You can choose how many of them you want to do, and you will get more information for each one. If you do all of them, you of course have more information before the actual assassination, but the problem is you don't need any information. Save for a few assassinations at the very end, every mission can be completed with just finding the target and killing him. The whole concept of choosing how to end your targets life is not fleshed out well at all. Yes you can take different routes to his location, but that's it. Forget the diversity you can find in for example Hitman: Blood Money. The game also struggles on some pure gameplay related notes, for example in the way the climbing is programmed. For the most part, it works fine, but Altair does have a mind of his own from time to time. He figured he would jump in any direction other than the one i was pointing towards. In the end, Assassin's Creed is a dull and disappointing experience. It has a great concept, but the execution is poor. Hopefully the successors are better.
