The best "forgotten gem" you could play

I bought this game on a whim, never played it back in the day when it came out, actually, not really having heard of it before. I trusted the score and the reviews here on GoG and oooh boy am I glad i did. This game, with all the flaws that other reviews point out- which are definately there - still it's a masterpiece. Yes it's janky, yes gameplay it's outdated, yes combat can get boring (like any oldschool jrpg though, I might say), yes is kinda incomplete, but all in all this game is still head above shoulders many new AAA titles, because it has a soul. If you are familiar with "classic" jrpg and dont' mind them, absolutely buy this gem.

Interesting Game and Addictive

I objectively don't think this game is all that good at anything but for some reason I don't want to put it down. The pacing, storytelling, and dialogue isn't the best but it has it's charm. If you like old school turn-based RPGs it's worth a shot, especially if you catch it on a good discount.

great fun, somehow marred by last boss b

glad I got to finish this game, gave it a try when it came out 25 yrs ago but wasn't interested enough at that time. More adventure than RPG, this is a long game full of interesting characters and often tongue in cheek, while retaining that end of millennium cyberpunk quality that made so many 1997-1999 titles so great

Game of quirks, charm and genuine heart

A strange, funny, and surprisingly heartfelt RPG that mixes sci-fi pulp with witty writing and memorable characters. What other game has a planet as a companion? Dated in places, but still worth the journey if you’re into story-first experiences. Play if: - You enjoy story-driven RPGs with strong character writing and humor (think early Bioware or Planescape: Torment with a comedic twist). - You like quirky, imaginative sci-fi worlds filled with oddball side characters and settings. - You can appreciate a mix of comedy and genuine emotional beats in a single narrative. - You don’t mind an old-school JRPG-style combat system with simple mechanics. Also, no grind. - You’re curious about cult classics that still feel unique decades later. Skip if: - You want somewhat modern graphics, UI, or animations. This is a 2001 PC game, and it looked outdated even on release. - You dislike linear JRPG-style progression and turn-based combat. There is absolutely zero build variety. - You expect a balanced, bug-free experience (some jank and pacing issues are part of the package).
