A restoration and remaster of a game lost to time for over 25 years, American Hero is an outrageous and unforgettable FMV game that lets you play as the star in an over-the-top 1990s Hollywood action movie.
Take on the role of Jack, a former intelligence officer brought out of retirement for one last mission to stop the villainous virologist Krueger, who plans to unleash a mind-controlling virus on the citizens of Los Angeles. Your spur-of-the-moment decisions will help or hinder Jack as he tries to find and protect the only scientist who has the cure for this deadly pathogen.
Originally designed for the Atari Jaguar CD as a “playable movie” with a more fluid presentation than the FMV games of its time, American Hero features the talents of professional actors, including Timothy Bottoms (The Last Picture Show, Johnny Got His Gun), Daniel Roebuck (The Fugitive, Final Destination), and Musetta Vander (O Brother, Where Art Thou, Wild Wild West). For this restoration, Timothy Bottoms reprises his role in a newly-recorded voiceover of Jack’s inner thoughts heard throughout the game.

Super FMV Game from the 90s!
I like the game it reminds me the good old FMV Arcade and 3DO games from the early 90s! It has good action, sex, soundtrack, good sense of humor and very good Hollywood actors from this time. If you like FMV games you shouldn´t miss this pearl.

Here me out.
So, yeah I'm not going to lie. When you first start the game there's titz. So initially you pre-judge the game like I did. But you're going to have to trust me here since you can't 'Actually" see me. I paused the game to literally write this and I'll tell you why. I'm only maybe 10 minutes into the game I've already saw an armoire full of reasons why this game is a masterpiece. Initially you start the game and you question if there's a menu because boom it's... starting the, you mash start you realize there is. Fullscreen is where it really becomes a wonder of it's own trust me. I was vague on purpose for your benefit :) Then you get into the story once it blossoms in front of you and the branching narratives quickly sweep you in. There's so much depth to the choices you make, I thought it was going to be a more usual style... Let me give you a tip. Go in blind. I was literally GLUED to my screen waiting to choose a choice because the story is like a SLAP in the face right away. With how this game chooses to give you command, trust me it's a game in a league of it's own. I'm already plotting like 5-6 playthroughs just from the first ten minutes alone. Like I said, I haven't gotten very far yet, But look. I play a ton of FMV games, my favorite being "Five Dates" The bond of brotherhood in that game is like iconic. So when I come into a game I have high expectations, because we all know there's like one company killing it for FMV games right now. But what they don't have is the way THIS game delivers it's gameplay. It's "IN YOUR FACE" it's "Kickazz" If more games took from this style it would be a solid experience that's fresh and new to the genre itself. I know you're probably saying "Who TF is this clown thinking he knows a good game when he only played a few minutes of it" Or maybe you're not. Maybe you're on the fence. Here's a few questions. Do you like FMV games? Do you like action games? Do you like to talk out loud to yourself and say stuff like "OMG... I can't believe they put this into the game" while you're laughing out-loud or coughing on your drink? If so then you'd love this game. Also, get the unrated version. You WANT all the content, as you'll be playing it over and over x10.

Raw yet flawed
Mother used to encourage me to play games so long as I would write a report afterwards about, and this is one she picked out herself. Obviously this was sexier than the usual game shed pick out for me but I was 26 at the time so it's not like I wasnt a adult. So anyway I fire up the game for the first time and I start cranking and the hour hand on the clock went round and round until it was suddenly 2AM and thats when things get hazy. I woke up in the hospital and the doctor told me he had never seen a case that serious in his entire career, turns out there had been a gas leak in our home and I just imagined my mom's face over all the characters in this game talking to me! Even firing up this game now I can still hear her voice in my head and it brings back great memories. If you know what it is going in it should help on your report
