Hatred for aliens? This game is for you!

Alien Shooter 2 is one of those hidden gems in the gaming industry today. Not well known by the gaming press or media in general, this game could easily be passed off as a cheap Diablo-clone. That's just not true. Sure, it's a loot based game in the vein of Diablo and Diablo-esque games but this game has guns! Lots of gun! Good combat and very moody 2D graphics and enviroments. I really liked the early parts of the game where your flashlights light up the surrounding enviroments in a beautiful way. The game is just filled with small details like that, cool graphical touches, neat gameplay ideas.. Without going into too much detail, the game is just a labor of love, and it shows. Alien Shooter 2 is really one of those games you really need to play if you have any appreciation for Diablo-like games. It has such good fun and good gameplay that it makes me kinda sad that these kinds of games go by the gaming press just because its not a big budget title. Alien Shooter 2 should not be missed by fans of the "Click-Kill-Loot"-genre. Or whatever I should call it! For this low price, I'd probably recommend it to most of my friends who are into this sort of game.

A Definite Enhancement

Alien Shooter 2 Reloaded adds to what made the first Alien Shooter fun. What wasn't broke wasn't fixed. What was 'okay' is now damn fine tuned. So, what was tuned up? Well, the graphics definitely got an overhaul: nothing 'face melting', but definitely easier on the eyes. The stages also feel more open-ended and dynamic, with various sub-areas and a sense of exploration. The upgrading system is much more open as well, including a perks system. There are also more characters to choose from, with their own specialized attributes which can be upgraded. Alien Shooter 2 Reloaded is what an 'enhancement' truly means.

What a Blood Bath!

I've just had a great couple of hours playing this. Gets very intense at times but still seems fair at the moment. The WASD movement that works with actual direction takes a bit of time to get used to (e.g. up moves you up the screen instead of moving you forward depending on where your character is looking), but it's not frustrating, which I guess means I'm getting the hang of it.

Classic, but still solid, despite flaws

Classic game from a childhood. It's one big kill everything run. However, that's both it's ultimate strength and weakness. Plot wise, it's okay, like, the plot is there only to have players kill the aliens. However, it's very meaty and fun seeing the floor red from all the corpses of the aliens you slay. Despite it aging quite a bit, it's very much a good game. Having said that, it's not without flaws. Difficulty levels are... odd. On the medium you can steamroll through most of the game easily enough. Hard? The aliens are far more tanky and you die more quickly. It would be okay, if you actually had means of killing stronger foes quickly. Once you get to shooting aliens, you will hate it, because of how durable they are. However, this is nothing compared to impossible. Impossible mode is well, impossible basically. I mean, you die quickly, all fights should be fought at a distance, the aliens deal a ton of damage, etc. However, the biggest problem is the sheer bullet spongeness of all enemies. At that level of difficulty, killing a single alien is incredibly hard, especially, the armoured ones. In fact, I would say, the best way to play the game is to play through first four levels at impossible or hard and then switching to medium. Because, the game is too easy on medium. Still, I can understand why I liked it so much. It's dumb fun, but so are many other games, like Prototype 1 (not 2, avoid that thing). Games should be fun first and this one? Well, I think it accomplishes it quite well, all things considered. 4/5.
