Great game

A hat in time is a great game. Think the kind of gameplay you got from Super Mario 64. Lots of worlds to explore, with many different "acts" in each one. And despite it being a game mostly just about collecting items, it doesn't get boring. The art style works really well in this game. It reminds me a lot of the cute double-fine esque art from Costume quest. Good music to go along with it too. The wide worlds with lots to explore are great and well designed. The story is good as well with a lot of nice and amusing characters. My only gripe is with the technical aspects of the game. There a few localisation strings that are empty leaving you with ugly menus at times, and it seemed to have iffy controller support when using a PS3 controller. Also, I never was able to use the "camera badge" to take screenshots. There were a few crashes as well. Those issues aside, the game seems very well optimised and looks great even on a not particularly recent laptop. Definitely worth playing.

Un jeu de plateforme très attachant

Je n'aime pas les jeux de plateforme en général, j'y suis très nulle. Pourtant, celui-ci j'y reviens régulièrement. Parce que le jeu a un niveau réglé pour mon (absence de) skill? Non, j'en suis au tiers et je galère à finir les niveaux. J'y joue encore parce que les personnages sont attachants, les mondes variés et les checkpoints suffisament bien calibrés pour encourager la persévérance sans trop assister ou être trop injuste. C'est un jeu où progresser me fait plaisir. Deux bémols: la caméra est parfois aux fraises et il n'est pas possible de quitter le jeu et reprendre le niveau au dernier checkpoint, rendant certaines sessions assez longues. A part ça, je recommande chaudement

Decent Game With a Few Flaws

This game has the potential to be something great, but there were a few things that held it back for me. I found the controls to be the post painful part of the game. They were sloppy and overly sensitive. I also thought that the general atmosphere for the game was often bland and lacking character. More than a few times I thought the game was trying too hard to be like the Mario series, but didn't quite capture the general feeling of those games. Many of the levels also felt very cramped when compared to similar games, but it did a decent job telling the overall story. I would recommend this game for those who enjoy games like Zelda and Mario, but don't expect to be blown away by the experience. It's just okay.

A great genre. It's still in progress

There are bugs that I heard about in youtube vidoes more than a year a ago, s I can't say buy it now just for a fun game. There are bugs: falling through the floor still after two or so years of that bug, missions not progressingwhen you do the right thing, shooting yourself through a cannon into a cavern with four sets of doors and a waterfall and no way out... There are some game flow problems, like knitting a sprinting hat but finding more sprint yarn everywhere. A game saves (a single automatic state) is a checkpoint which preserves money and badges bought but not portions of vault combinations. There are enough bugs that this causes a lot of repetition. If there's only one or a few developers, this represents a lot of good work; but I'm glad it's not my job to clean up that code. As long as "collecting yarn or money to sew a hat or buy a badge for an ability are the two ways to upgrage" is on the cover for customers and bugs get fixed, this could be a really fun game.

Its cute and fun. The MC is sassy/cheeky and likeable. Highly recommended if you just want som cute fun.
