Inferior modding experience on gog.
The steam version gives modding tools and access to a great number of mods from the steam workshop. The gog version does not. It doesn't even provide the modding tools. It is a inferior version, go buy the product on steam instead if you want access to these.

Great game but...
A hat in time is a wonderful game. Everything mario fans wish they could get more of. I absoutletly adore the game and have 100% it a few times on my own. Theres only one thing I wish I could get out of it now and that is being able to play it on PC for free. Let me explain. Ive played A hat in time on my XBOX and now ive wanted to Record and make videos on it. However even though it is in my library on GOG GALAXY I cannot install it here. This is very sad :(

Just get the Steam Version!
Steam Version has Modsupport, GOG as far as i am aware does not. Don´t make the same mistake as i did. Ther is no localication, so language mods wich are available on steam workshop would be much appreciated.

The Butcher of Mafia Town
That's how I named the player character in the nearly two hours I played, where a tiny girl murders the crap out of mentally challenged Mafia dudes. The game looks adorable and it plays quite well. I'm not a Nintendo kid, so I don't have experience in your Mario Sunshine or Odyssey or whatever; but it is probably the only such game that exists on PC. So, what's the problem and why I ejected at only two hours, knocking off a very generous two stars? Optimization. The game chugs and lags and stutters with option changes making very little difference. It's Unreal 3 at its worst, being all grumpy and insecure and making it difficult for any developer team under 500 people to work with. I'm not going to say the performance issues make the game actually unplayable, but there's not enough "adorkable" in the world to convince me to deal with the technical issues. I'm not marking it down completely, I see potential past the point I could tolerate, but I do caution prospective buyers.

Repetitive boredom
A hat in time is a poor version of Super mario 64, Why do i say that ? beacuse you jump into levels, there are hats that gives you powerups and you collect hourglasses in the same way as you do with the stars, wich also takes you out of the stage like in mario 64. You go trhough 4 different levels but (but with very similar challanges and play style) to collect hourglasses, with the aid of some power hats that you can craft trhough some yarnballs that are scattared around the level, You can also buy some patches that will give you some buffs although some are completely usless. There are four different types of hats that you very rarely have to use beacuse the developers didn't make that many challanges around them. You can ofcourse use them to get some collectibles or gems. A hat in time is a third person platformer but for some reason you can't go in first person mode to get a better look on your surrounding making some jumps harder and finding collectibles a bit more of a pain in the arse. I would not recomend this game.
