meudoland: errors during install. then the galaxy client always crashes.
Hi meudoland,

do you remember what the errors during installation were related to? Could you send us the crash report (a dialog should appear after each crash), preferably with some info that this is the case when something failed during install?

Does a full reinstall (uninstall game+launcher, redownload installer) solve your problem?

there is no further evidence, during install a window pops up saying galaxy client crashed.
when I try to start the installed game, occurs the same and nothing else.
I have also noticed that the install forces to stop all the system processes.....

Hello guys!

I have a small issue with the Game Installer, everytime I install the "game and launcher", it closes other applications (notepad, vlc, folders, malwarebytes) during installation.

The beta and launcher work fine after that.

I'm using windows XP sp3.

Ok, I understand now. Thanks for the info, we are investigating the issue.

And we are investigating this one as well :) We found the root cause, and it should soon be fixed.

Hey, team, I got a key a few hours ago, but when I run the installer as the administrator, accept the EULA, and press "Install", the progress bar won't move. It's been like that for 5 minutes. I have Windows 7 and I downloaded both from the GOG download manager and directly from the site. I tried installing FTL: Advanced Edition and it worked without issues.

Any update on this?

Hi Mathute87, that's an interesting bug. Did some log files appear, as indicated in the first post? If yes, could you send them to us? Thanks!

Hey, Liosan. No log files appear. As soon as I start the installation the progress bar doesn't move at all, and the installer just stays there until I close it manually. Haven't been able to install the game as of yet.

Hm, too bad. We'll try to look into the issue; thanks for the info.

Does this happen with any other game from GOG?

EDIT: Nevermind, just found your post about FTL. Please contact Support with this problem, it will be easier to solve it that way :-)

Hulahuga: Aight so one issue here that anyone who has multiple drives and an SSD as a main will recognize. For one I never got to choose where to install the Galaxy client.
I'm also in the same camp - I only have around 1GB free on my C: drive at any time, due to using a space-limited SSD. I know that the ability to use secondary drives is planned for later. Any sense on when "Later" might be?

Thanks, and looking forward to helping test this!
When I first stated the launcher, the "Email" field was highlighted, but when I started typing nothing appeared in it. I had to click on the field before it would let me enter my email.

Running Windows 8.1, also have the GOG.com downloader installed.
I've noticed that the launcher did not offer me to log in, after I started it automatically at the end of the game installation. Only after I closed the game (authentication failed blah blah) and the launcher, and started it again via desktop shortcut, I got the option to log in with my gog.com credentials.

Also, game seems a bit complicated for a board game, but that's for another topic.
It would be nice to see the download speed and not just the completion percentage and size.

Quitting the launcher while the game is downloading seems to drop all of the downloaded files - temporary measure?

Thanks, I have no doubts about that - I'm not going to judge either the client or the game based on the current state.

Just feel like I owe you guys actual feedback now that I'm in the beta without buying into the W3 preorder.
