SacredPath: Never mind, did some backtracking (~2 hours) and am at the shrine with both glyph and sigil now. HOWEVER, I seem to consistently trigger the glyph bug (I receive no rune after the cleansing). Are there any workarounds?
Sorry to say this but IIRC, you have to keep trying until it sticks, so to speak.

Are you playing nGlide or D3D version?

SacredPath: D3D, as Glide didn't work (CTD on startup). I got the rune now btw, after maybe the 6th try
Still, other problems may occur, as D3D version is not capped at 30 FPS, unless you have NVidia card.
If for some reason you cannot run nGlide (integrated graphics card maybe? ) you may want to look at some unofficial patches at Ultima Codex
