somegamingdude: Thanks for that :). Its a viable workaround (the agme launches, haven't tried playing it yet).
Its just unnecessary and avoidable :(
lightonflux: A workaround:
Browse to the subdirectory "[GOG_GAMES]/Teslagrad/game/Teslagrad_linux64_fullversion_1_4" then run the "Teslagrad" binary from there (double click). If you have a 32bit install substitute the "linux64" with "linux32".
I submitted system info and further infos via the support form.
somegamingdude: Hey Linuxvangog,
Whoa, you're part of the GOG team; I really didn't expect a response from anyone at that level.
Before I answer your questions, lightonflux has suggested a workaround that seems to work thus far (I haven't started the playing the game yet, but it at least launches).
Hopefully it can be rectified so that other users aren't inconvenienced in the future.
As an aside (and I'm only saying this due to your position as a member of GOG), I've been somewhat disappointed with my Linux experience on GOG. I don't have exact numbers, but it feels like only 50% of the games I buy will work in Linux. With the rest of them, I end up throwing my hands and just playing their windows variants (which is something I'd like to avoid).
I'm sure you guys are working on fixing these issues, but I just needed to get that off my chest and just remind the team that a more robust quality control would be nice.
Thanks and keep up the good work
Which games do not work for you? Many of games sold on GOG require manual installation of game dependencies before they can be started. This information is present on product pages so you know that before you buy a game. Feel free to contact our support anytime you encounter any difficulties to run a Linux game.
I assure you that every game released on GOG is being tested on a varying range of hardware.
