ehyder: I see there is an update called 1.2b. The file I downloaded is v_1.1.0.12. Is this 1.2b? When I go to 'About' (on my Mac), I only get information about Wineskin, not the game. So far I have not been able to find the version number for the game to verify that I have the update.

Still running into the frozen 'bug.' Been looking at the forums and trying to figure out if this is the windowing problem that other folks have run into. So far I have not quite figured out how to resolve it if it is a windowing problem (not familiar with wineskin), but I am still reading. Specific directions on a fix or the link to it, if anyone has the patience, would be appreciated.

ehyder: I will take an action, or worse win a battle, and the game will freeze. None of the windows/buttons are responsive and I end up quitting the game and reloading rather frequently. I have not been able to determine a pattern but I saw a reference to several posts on windowing issues (i.e., see pallee's post on March 18th - http://www.gog.com/forum/smugglers_v/game_unresponsive_after_combat).

I am trying to figure out how he got to his windowing solution to see if this fixes my problems. I also seem to recall coming across a few other posts talking about windows issues and wineskin but have not run across them again yet, still schlogging through the posts.

On an unrelated, or maybe not, note: There is a mysterious 'Button 1' on the top right corner of the galaxy map. Nothing seems to happen when I click it.

ehyder: Just ran into another pirate encounter while exploring a planet; in this case Mars as a Federal Fleet officer. The game froze again and I have to quit the game. I do not see any way to proceed playing the game if this keeps happening. Suggestions?
