We've received more than 100 (actually something around 150) entries for the "GOG Holiday carol contest", which is great! Thank you everyone who took part in the contest.

Spending the whole day reading and singing the lyrics you sent us, we already feel like it's Christmas already. Out of all carols we've picked 15 we thought are the best. Below you'll find the lyrics to those carols:

Carol of the Bells
Christmas in Hollis
Do you hear what I hear + audio
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
Good King Wenceslas
Happy Xmas (War is over)
Hark! The Herald Angles Sing
Here Comes Santa Claus pt.1, pt.2
In the bleak midwinter + audio
Jingle Bells
Let it snow
Rudolf the red nosed reindeer
Santa Claus is coming to town
What's this pt.1, pt.2
Winter Wonderland

Now it's your time to vote for your favourite carol out of the entries above. Each user is eligible to vote once a day. To cast your vote send an email to voting@gog.com and as the email's subject enter the exact name of the carol which is visible above. The voting ends on Thursday, December 9 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. At the end of the voting period, we'll award prizes to the first, second, and third most popular carols.

Let the voting begin!

Let me note that we're deleting multiple entries from the same email address, so only your last vote will count.

Not that any of our users would ever try to game the system, of course. Just a helfpul FYI. :D

Wesker: Excuse me, but I find this unclear. Do you mean multiple entries for one day as in "eligible to vote once a day") or multiple entries over the days until the 9th?
Yes, we meant multiple entries for one day.
Howdi everyone,

Sorry it took us so long to announce the winners for the GOG Holiday Carol. It's probably the lazy spirit of Holidays that overtook the office, oh and we had some big announcements yesterday ;).

Well, worry not as we're announcing the winners right now. The undisputed winner of the voting for the best GOG Holiday Carol is "Happy Xmas (War is over)" by zymon! The second place goes to carol based on "Do you hear what I hear" by midiboy. The fight for the third place was really fierce between four carols, but the winner could be only one and it's carol based on "Good King Wenceslas" by Wigamondo. And because it was so close we want to award the authors of Christmas in Hollis (Unagiorange), "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" (mickren) and "In the bleak midwinter" (ayhlara) with a free game of their choice from the GOG catalogue.

Congratulations to all winners (we will contact you about the details) and thank you all who participated - the great number of entries just confirms that you're one helluva creative and fun communities out there! Thanks!

EDIT: fix'd the winner's nick ;)
