New GOG.com-exclusive bonus content for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt + hot photo contest!

UPDATE:
We've seen many people in the forums or our social networks saying that they would love to take part in the photo contest, but they can't get their hands on the paper toy templates for one reason or other (pre-ordering a physical copy, no free funds, etc.). We've decided to level the playing field by releasing three of the figurines to the general public. You can get the templates for Geralt, Triss, and the Leshen paper toys without the need to pre-order The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on GOG.com. The files come complete with a PDF catalog presenting how the figurines should look assembled (back and front). The same booklet has been also added to the bonus goodies section. Now, that everyone can take part in the competition, the entry deadline has been extended to Sunday, August 10, at 11:59:59PM GMT. Have fun!

GOG.com digital edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt just got even more extensive than it already was! We've just added six templates for papercraft toy figurines of Geralt of Rivia, Triss Merigold, Yennefer of Vengerberg, Ciri the Lion Cub of Cintra, Eredin of the Wild Hunt, and Leshen the Forest Spirit. They've been designed exclusively for GOG.com by the top paper toy artist Tougui, and are available with every DRM-Free copy of CD Projekt RED's upcoming RPG epic. If you've pre-ordered The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on GOG.com, you can download the PDF figurine templates right away!

We do hope you'll enjoy our official Witcher 3 paper toys. You can expect more GOG.com-exclusive bonus content to be added to our digital edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, before the game's launch on February 24th, 2015. Now, since these here are paper toys not paper ornaments, let's have some fun!

What you can see above, is an unexpected encounter between Geralt the Witcher, the Sorceress Yennefer, and Leshen, the elder forest demon. You can feel the tension in the air, as Geralt readies his silver sword, Yen gathers her mystical powers, and the beast slowly draws near. If you can take the paper toys and arrange an exciting scene (or a funny one, or beautiful, or…), you'll get a chance to win one of three amazing prizes! A wolf head medallion, a gorgeous Artbook, and for the first place - a sculpture of Geralt battling the mighty griffin! Each of the prizes will come complete with an official Witcher 3 T-shirt.

Now, wouldn't it be amazing to get your hands on that fantastic Collector's Edition figure before anyone else? We've received quite a lot of amazing entries - just check out the gallery below. Every single one of these has a chance at one of the prizes! The winners will be announced after the combined GOG.com / CD Projekt RED jury passes the decision, on Monday, August 25th. Good luck to you all!

JMich: Question, do we need to have bought The Witcher 3 on GOG to take part in this contest, or can another user give us the paper dolls to print and photograph?
We don't have any means of checking where did the models in the photos come from, now do we? We cannot forbid you to share the templates with each other, but since they are DRM-Free and GOG.com exclusive we would humbly ask you to be considerate if doing so.

Vinivitin: excuse me, where to send photos(link please)?

3. Give your photo a title and tweet it with the #PaperWitcher hashtag (just a general tweet, please--don't start it with "@GOGcom). Multiple entries are allowed.

4. Not a Twitter user? No problem. Post your entries below, right here in the GOG.com forum thread.
We'll have something nice to announce tomorrow. But when we're done with the announcement, we'll be releasing three out of six paper toys to general public, so everyone can participate in the competition :-) We thought it's the right thing to do here. We'll also extend the competition deadline to give everyone fair chance at putting the paper toys together and preparing the scenes.

So, tomorrow, after we make our announcement (what announcement? you'll see ;-) ), drop by this thread for new official details and template download links!

Piluso:
I have a question, regarding the contest, dear good Doctor... "Post prcessing" also means photoshoping the dolls into realeased screenshots/trailer of the game? Because I have a few narly ideas about that. :)

Also, GREAT work by Tougui!! These are far superior papercrafts than those from the Witcher2. *thumbs up*

Also thanks to CDP RED and GOG for setting up this fun contest. LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!
Yes, you can use Photoshop :)

Punished_Snake: Any news about winners?
I updated the post today with a gallery and the winner announcement details :-)

"We've received quite a lot of amazing entries - just check out the gallery [at the end of the news post]. Every single one of these has a chance at one of the prizes! We're experiencing a slight delay. We're still arguing which entries should be awarded. We're sorry, but the results won't be in today. There are just too many original ideas in there. :-)

snowboardjoe: Ok thank you for the update.
Can you tell us when you will announce the lucky winners? ;D
The results are in! I'll prepare an announcement and post it after today's release. :-)
You've sent us a ton of excellent entries full of great ideas, good humor, and displaying considerable skill in execution. The competition was very tight, and it took us and our friends of CD Projekt RED a lot of ummm... discussing (yeah, let's pretend it was all civil) to reach a verdict, but here it is!

THE WITCHER 3: WILD HUNT Papercraft Competition Results:

1st place: Scani, with "A contract on the Leshen*".
We're rewarding not only the artistic vision here, but also technical excellence, dynamic composition, and all the fine polishing. This could easily be a part of our official marketing assets for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt! Congratulations. You. Sir, are a winner - the statue of Geralt battling the mighty griffin will be shipped to you!

2nd place: Pixelion, with "Geralt defeats an Ice Giant". This is hands down (hands down, get it?) the most elaborate and time consuming entry we received in terms of preparation and staging. The photo's quality is excellent as well, and the scene as a whole makes a perfect job of telling an exciting story of bravery, hardship, and victory. An artbook for the artist!

3rd place: Piluso, with "7th Seal of The Wild Hunt". We've received quite a few interesting photos from this contestant, each with an original idea and showing considerable skill in terms of execution. But if it even was just this one photo, we would award it if only for the great idea and a popcultural reference that left us greatly impressed. We'll exchange your 7th seal for an original Wolf Head Medallion!

Congratulations to the winners! On top of the stated prizes, each one of you will also receive a The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt official t-shirt. Please send me (G-Doc) a private forum message with your shipping address and t-shirt size.

Now, for the runner-up prizes (in random order):

- R3gnier with "Geralt's final moments", for great emotional charge and very elaborate setup.

- Felixillion with "Unhappy Tree Fiend", for making us laugh a little bit too hard.

- drmet with "Does this dress make me look like a Leshen?", for making a nice, self-contained comic strip that belongs in Temeria Herald's funny pages.

- @precel (Twitter handle) with "Some Assembly Required", for wonderful memories of childhood paired with brilliant humor.

- Noircop with "A very Gory Scene", for the amount of work that went into putting together this well-executed (wink, wink) photo.

Each of the runner-up winners will receive a $9.99 voucher to use on GOG.com. Please PM me for your prize!

That's it! Thank you for participating, and once again - congratulations on all of those awesome photos!

*Most photo titles were changed or created ad hoc.
