With only one more Atari-Hasbro title left, Icewind Dale 2 Complete brings us perilously close to completing our awe-inspiring offering of epic, level 20, masterwork role-playing games.

[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/icewind_dale_2]Icewind Dale 2 is a computer role-playing game and the last title created with the Infinity Engine. The setting of choice is, of course, Faerûn of the Forgotten Realms, home to legendary tales and heroes beyond count. The mechanics come from the Third Edition Dungeons and Dragons ruleset, meticulously adapted to work in a real-time game. The story is just enthralling, good enough to compete with any fantasy novel. The dialogue is rich and enjoyable. The characters memorable. The combat satisfying and expertly paced. The game... An absolute masterpiece. If you don't have it yet - get it now. And if you've already got one... What's the harm in getting yourself a backup?
Personally, I don't like giving the code in a posting. It's too much like chucking a piece of cube steak in a tank of piranhas.

I much prefer to send redemption codes to specific people for whatever reason. That is why I like contests. Contests give everyone who wants to enter a chance, even those who can barely type.

Nearly "something unexpected" but for the other reason. ;)
Hey, wishingwell. :)

Eclipse: guys, how about just buying the damn game and stop talking about giveaway codes? ;)
This guy deserves a free game! But unfortunately there are dark forces working to stop good men and women receiving their random codes.

Lexor: So you prefer to modifying macro every time you see "something unexpected" just for this one time, instead of just as human follow written instructions? Good luck with that :D

I bet that in such every case before macro will be modified, code will be redeemed by some human. ;)
No, you're missing the point. The point is, someone can build up a fairly comprehensive system for fetching codes based on what has happened before. All of this, can of course be done PRIOR to the code being posted by defining rules and testing them on the codes for free games.

Or in other words, don't think that you'll be fooling all macros/scripts simply because you decide to post instructions. Chances are, someone else thought up the same instructions already and has a tried and tested script ready and waiting.

For the record, I don't bother using such things. But coding one is not all that different to types of scripts I code for Didimatic to fetch sales information.
All this code stuff aside, does anyone know what does The Adventure Pack contain?
I played this game before but I don't remember hearing about it before.

I don't think anyone does, yet, and you'd be about the last person I'd suspect of doing it, but you are giving people ideas (the generic you, not personal). This code posting thing was a nice fad, but it has outgrown itself.

Even without TWW, the amount of free stuff flying around on this forum is most extraordinary.
Can anyone find a listing of what it adds? I recall many moons ago when I had the game on disc that this was included in my version, but can't remember what the items were that the AP added.

*edit* I mean the specific in-game items.

meh :(
Thought it could contain 2-3 minor side-quests, shame it doesn't.
Is it just me or does the link to download the avatars say 55MB, when it's more near 55kb? Guess it's a typo. Had me scared for a second. "Holy ^*$&! That's a lot of avatars!!"

Tried to find it and didn't. It seems the pack was primarily a preorder bonus, so it's really just two new merchants and a dozen items, most of which apparently have their vanilla equivalents. Nothing earth-shattering.
