Our forums had a brief window of vulnarability to some site redirects in the forums; at no time was any of your personal information at risk, and nothing happened that was more malicious than someone redirecting some of the forum traffic to a internet subculture forum as a bit of a joke. The security flaw has been fixed and is no longer exploitable

It's a testament to the quality of our community that nothing extraordinarily malicious happened after this was discovered; the bug that was exploited was mistakenly added in less than a week ago, and you can be assured that we're now going to conduct a full site audit to make sure that nothing else has showed up in recent site updates.

Our apologies that this happened; I'm locking all of the threads that people launched in various attempts to prevent anything malicious from happening because they're not really relevant any more, but I will leave them as a testament to the fact that our community pulled together when they spotted an error like this instead of attacking each other. I can't think of many other websites that get a million+ visitors a month whose community is of high enough calibre that no one took advantage of this flaw for their own gain. Thanks, guys.v
