I'm not able to sleep in any position other than on side and facing the wall. :D

timppu: Another stomach sleeper here, it is the most relaxing to me. I usually fall asleep on my stomach, but sometimes also on my side, like yesterday when I fell asleep on the sofa while watching a movie (The Amazing Spider-Man, god damn it was boring, no wonder I fell asleep, missing the last third of the movie).

I wake up in any position though, on my side or on my back, sometimes on the top of my head. So it is not like that even if I fall asleep on my stomach, I sleep whole night like that. People tend to move around a lot while they sleep, at least I do.

About which position is the healthiest to sleep at, I keep hearing claims of risks on all of them:

On your stomach: bad for your neck as it is twisted sideways.

On your side: can be bad on your heart, at least if you are sleeping on your left side (heart on the bottom, taxes it more). Or was it vice versa? Either way, one side was supposed to be a risk to your heart, go figure. Plus, some "expert" claimed that it will disfigure your face and head too (especially with infants with soft heads, but also with adults), you should sleep on your back to prevent that. Yeah right.

On your back: bad for your respiration, may make you snore and make sleep apnea worse, which may even KILL YOU!!!111!!eleven!!! Also if you have cold, all the snot and phlegm will go to your sinus and cause or at least make sinusitis worse.

So all in all, sleeping can be hazardous to your health and many people end up waking up dead. So I figure it doesn't matter that much in which position I fall asleep as I will keep moving and turning in my sleep anyway, hopefully lessening (not increasing) sleep-related risks.
Waking up dead part made my day xD
