Zipten: How does this control w/ m+k?
Thanks.
Have you ever played Dark Souls with a mouse + keyboard? It's doable but a controller is highly recommended for games of this nature.

Painted_Doll: Is this a procedurally generated game ?
No, it isn't.

groze: This may be a "Souls-like" game in a whole lot of ways, but it certainly doesn't look like it controls like one, Judas... just saying. Immortal Planet, going by the trailer and screenshots, seems to play more like a 2D animated isometric-ish game, which would make it relatively easy to control with a keyboard, whereas the Souls games are 3D games with free camera in third-person perspective. I don't really see the point of calling Immortal Planet and Dark Souls "games of this nature", except for the fact the devs of the former intended it to be "HARD!" and with "Souls-like" combat (which probably just means a stamina bar and timing blocks and dodges/rolls in between attacks). The way either Dark Souls and Immortal Planet look, graphically, indicates to me that they play nothing like each other.

Then again, I could be wrong, I haven't played this game, and though it looks interesting, I tend to avoid everything the devs or the producers or the publishers or the marketing people or whoever lazily call "Souls-like" just because it's hard. Still, I find it really hard to believe they play the same way when they look this different. One is not even a 3D game, how can you compare gameplay styles?
The game controls like a Souls game, just on an isometric plane. There are a few minor, in my opinion at least, differences:

Instead of a dodge roll, you have a dash that functions the same way i.e. to get you out of harm's way.
Instead of a parry move, you can dash into opponents when they are low on stamina to stun them

I think the only thing missing is a backstab move.

As for the rest of the mechanics (keep in mind that I haven't had a chance to get past the first level yet :) )

You collect Experiences and use them just like souls in order to level up your character.
You have abilities that require you to rest at your cryopod in order to replenish them
When you visit the cryopod, the monsters respawn.

It's a Souls-like game but with some slight differences to its mechanics partially due to the fact that you are playing on an isometric plane :) Let me know if you need more info :)
