There once was a page that chronicled dead websites called either "Dead Websites" or "Ghost Websites - Dead Websites on the Web" which, ironically, is now dead and I can't remember the URL.

It used to chronicle them in a unique way as it would describe in some detail as to just how dead a given website really was :) It was quite interesting to read :)
