Sorry for that. Chat is back.

adaliabooks: Thanks for the quick fix :)

Does this mean the notifications are any closer to being sorted out?
This is not really related, but yes - you'll get notifications soon. :)

HypersomniacLive: Soon™? We can all rest assured then.

And is this change a first taste of the awesomeness you spoke of?
We'll soon™ see about the soon™!

And you've shown that you have good memory and ability to relate facts! :D
I was writing about notifications then, not chat.

Johny.: [...] I was writing about notifications then, not chat.

HypersomniacLive: Why not?
Because chat was not a blocker for either online statuses on website, nor for notifications.

avatar
HypersomniacLive: Seems right inline with every other change GOG considers awesome. Like bringing over to the site the GOG Galaxy chat, which doesn't show who's actually online on the site.
It's not GOG Galaxy chat, it's GOG chat. It just happened to be in GOG Galaxy first.

You'll get a reply to other parts of your post soon (yes, I love this word) by either things changing, or official statements.
Actually about new chat - I didn't hear too much complaining, so I assumed you (users) like it. :P

(other than "it's different and I'm not used to it" of course)

Breja: In addition to what Hypersomniac mentioned, I find it terribly annoying how the users I blocked are now dumped together with all the ones I talked with instead of being at the bottom of the list (and are not even in any way marked on the list as blocked), and the drop-down menu holding the list of users only shows five at once. It all makes finding someone needlessly bothersome.
Sure - your suggestions make sense, enjoy.
avatar
BlackThorny: So the new chat (and notification system) shows users online on site & galaxy, only online in galaxy or only online on site?
It goes both ways.

avatar
BlackThorny: Also, how does it lists users who "appear offline" or have not been active on the page for a while (that may be several hours)?
How about if one starts a game then disconnects - does it lists him in the game or offline?
They should timeout to offline after a while. We are aware of one issue that you might need to either re-connect, or restart Galaxy Client to see that timeout.

zeogold: I could simply look at the list of users and see a chronological list of who I've messaged with. Now if I forget something, I have to look up the person's name manually every single time I go into chat.
Suggestions list when you start to search without typing anything is sorted by last activity.

Lin545: Its really really cool that you started to improve community www platform, that's for sure.
Today I noticed forum notifications to appear, which is great! Thank you for your work!
I was involved in development of chat, but thanks for forum notifications goes to our Features and Website Teams. :)
