artician: Is there some way to play the game in full-screen mode? Otherwise I get a 'fullscreen' 640x480 window, which is really *not* playable.

artician: That just puts the game into a windowed mode. The resolution is about 640x480 regardless of if it is fullscreen or not.
Did you check your Start menu to see if there was a Graphic Mode set up item? :)
