Sorry, Im still kind of new at this and not very computer savay. After downloading FO2 from this site, it worked great. Did not start a game yet. Downloaded Killap's latest ver. of the Unofficial patch and now when I try to start the game it won't run. I get an error message telling me that game is trying to run in compatibilty mode.
Can anyone help me.
Please be specific and go slow, I'm 60+ yrs old and new to pc and pc games.
Just checked, wording of error message is
"Fallout appears to be running in compatibilty mod" the only way I can get message off screen is hit enyer key.
Have a Dell running Windows XP
Thanks

Hi,
try this:
right click the game shortcut and click on properties. Then, under the compatibility tab, check (tick the boxes) of all available compatibilty options including win 98 or win 95.
Now, try to run the game again. You'll probably get yet another error message.
Do the same thing as above, but this time, uncheck (untick the boxes) of all the compatibility options.
I know it sounds weird but it worked for some people ;)
Look here for people having the same problem and how they fixed it.

Thanks, that worked. That is kind of weird. Wonder if the same thing happens with his (Killap) restoration patch?
Thanks for the link

No problem ;)
I'm under the impression it doesn't happen with the other patch, but if you run into any trouble with it, post here on the boards and i'm sure someone from the community will help you real quick ;)
