Release: A Plague Tale: Requiem – new chapter in de Rune siblings' journey

I did it for him! And I'll kill you again if I have to! I'll kill all of you! – Amicia de Rune.
A Plague Tale: Requiem, heavily anticipated sequel to the critically-acclaimed 2019's A Plague Tale: Innocence is now available on GOG alongside its Protector Pack DLC, which provides the player with exclusive in-game content and Digital Goodie Pack containing art and screenshots from Requiem and Innocence available to claim for free until October 20th, 10 PM UTC.
This survival action-adventure stealth title with puzzle-solving elements follows the fate of siblings Amicia and Hugo de Rune, who are looking for a cure to Hugo's supernatural blood disease in Southern France, all while running from soldiers of the English Inquisition and hordes of infected rats that are devouring the world with the plague.
Events of A Plague Tale: Requiem take place six months after the first game. The plague has once again found de Rune siblings and while the region of Provence at first seemed to have given our heroes comfort, they must now travel to a mysterious island seen by Hugo in his dreams, as it may be the key to saving him from the disease. Amicia, hardened by previous experiences, and Hugo who has come to grips with his unnatural powers, will be led to act to the limits of their morality, as their friend of yesterday could be their enemy of tomorrow.
Requiem is both adapted to welcome new audiences that haven't played the Innocence and greet returning players familiar with it. As Sébastien Renard, Lead Writer on A Plague Tale: Requiem says, “Requiem is in the continuity of Innocence, resuming the story existing players are familiar with. But we’ve been committed to making a game that is accessible to an audience who is completely new to the series [...] The idea was to introduce every character and give them life in the present, guiding players to meet these characters, getting to know who’s who, and how they’re related. Of course, there’s no formal introduction of Amicia, Hugo, Lucas, or Beatrice. It happens organically. We simply make sure that the opening sequences have all the elements needed to understand the existing dynamics”. He also adds that by making sure not to fall into anything formal when it comes to re-introducing essential elements, the studio prevents a feeling of repetition for familiar players, who will enjoy the opportunity to reconnect with the characters and the world without being thrown back in at the deep end.
Similar to its predecessor, A Plague Tale: Requiem will be played from a third-person perspective, as we take control of both de Rune siblings. Larger areas, expanded stealth mechanics, new abilities significantly expanding the combat system and emotional, story-driven gameplay offering impeccable audiovisual experience, are among many other things we can expect from A Plague Tale: Requiem. Take part in a spectacular grounded fantasy and discover the cost of saving those you love in a desperate struggle for survival within a violent world twisted by otherworldly forces.
