Description
Magic has been banned from the great Underground Empire of Zork. By edict of the Grand Inquisitor Mir Yannick, the Empire has been sealed off and the practice of mystic arts declared punishable by "Totemization" (a very bad thing). The only way to restore magic to the kingdom is to find three hidden artifacts: The Coconut of Quendor, The Cube of Foundation, and The Skull of Yoruk.

Join forces with Dungeon Master Dalboz who calls you "AFGNCAAP"( politically-correct initialism for "Ageless, Faceless, Gender-Neutral, Culturally-Ambiguous Adventure Person") and together you travel throughout the Underground Empire's many locations, such as Hades, Flood Control Dam #3 and The Dungeon Master's Lair in an attempt to find the three missing artifacts and bring about the fall of the Inquisition.

Zork: Grand Inquisitor is the last installment of the famous Zork adventure series. It uses the same formula as its predecessor: first-person perspective, 360 degree camera rotation, pre-rendered backgrounds, and live actors. Humor and comical pop-culture references accompany you throughout the entire game and guarantee that you will never get bored. So if you are looking for a not so serious oldschool adventure then this gem is for you.
  • Stunning graphics and enchanting music absorb you into over 30 unique 360⁰ environments
  • Live action video and voice acting by stars such as Dirk Benedict, Michael McKean and David Landerr.
  • Visit the famous landmarks that made Zork legendary. Enlist the aid of three fantastic characters on your magic quest through Zork

Oldie but Funny

This comedic FMV twist on the old text adventure Zork phenomenon is dated, corny, whimsical, and short unless you get stuck overthinking a puzzle. Always fun and I love to revisit it. So many memorable lines and kooky mechanics.

Great Game

This is one of my all time fave games and I have been waiting for this to show up on GOG. All the Zork games are fun, but the humour in this game is outstanding and well worth the price.

Perfect

Zork: Grand Inquisitor is my favorite Zork game. It has all the quirky, silly sense of humor that attracted me to games in the first place. As a child of the 90's, I prefer the graphic interface over text. While it certain restricts the range of actions one can take in the game, it still provides the player with some fun surprises when using the wrong inventory items or spells on objects. The acting and storytelling are both very fine.

Younger years memories.

I just want to say, i was about 14 I think when i played a demo of this game, had it from a demos cd, they were popular those days in a country that didnt really have access to video games, i never really had the full version. Now i got it from gog and playing it, i have no words, thank you !!! It has the same cheesy humor and ambience i loved in the demo.

Kinda Funny, but a shallow experience

After the serious Nemesis clearly left some people longing for a comedic Zork, Grand Inquisitor does bring back the humor that was "lost" but doesn't bring a meaningful game along too. There is plenty of humor particularly from your sidekick/lamp voiced by Micheal McKean. However, the plot is very thin and possibly contradictory with both other games in the series and itself most bizarrely. While the puzzles are mostly straightforward, the logic for why you do almost anything can be nonexistent. In a game with as little plot as this one, it just makes those puzzles feel like pure padding. What I found most disappointing though is how poorly developed the areas are. They generally only have two or three puzzles and might be made up of only one or two "points". This isn't really a game you explore as much as you fast travel between the handful of locations.
