    Yakuza Complete Series
Includes Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, Yakuza Kiwami 2, Yakuza 3 Remastered, Yakuza 4 Remastered, Yakuza 5 Remastered and Yakuza 6: The Song of Life

Get ready for a Yakuza experience of unprecedented scale! Follow five characters across five Japanese cities, each trying to achieve their dream. The connections between them bring them together, but the conflict that unfolds is nothing any of them could have predicted.

Experience the fifth chapter of the Kazuma Kiryu saga in 1080p and 60fps.

In December 2012, Kazuma Kiryu left his past as a ""legendary yakuza"" and his place of peace in Okinawa.

He now spends his days as a cab driver in a corner of Fukuoka's red-light district, hiding his true identity. All for the sake of fulfilling the ""dream"" of an important person.

However, a disturbing atmosphere begins to drift through the supposedly well-balanced society of the Kanto and Kansai yakuza, emerging as a plot to drag all of the yakuza organizations in Japan to war.

In order to protect the ""dreams"" of his loved one, Kiryu is drawn into the vortex of battle once again.

This is the story of four men and a girl chasing their ""dreams"" in five major cities in Japan, presented on the largest scale of the series yet.

Complete The Dragon of Dojima’s journey.

I didn't even dare to dream Yakuza here!

This series is gorgeous and unique, full of funny mini stories, sincerity, trust, sacrifices and even drama. After you've finished the whole series, you will feel sorry that the story of Kazuma Kiryu's doesn't continue anymore. A few months ago I bought all the Yakuza series on Steam. I played the entire Yakuza series on PSN and I have the original PS3 and PS4 discs as collection. I won't miss the chance to buy Yakuza on Gog as well. For the new gamers ( I wish I didn't know the story to play them for the first time as you), here it is the playing order of the games: Yakuza 0 Yakuza Kiwami Yakuza Kiwami 2 Yakuza 3 Remastered Yakuza 4 Remastered Yakuza 5 Remastered Yakuza 6: The Song of Life Yakuza: Like a Dragon and get ready for… Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name (November 2023) Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (2024)

    The Biggest Yakuza Game

Just beat the game on Steam and it's probably in my top 5 entries in the series. It feels like RGG listened to all the criticisms of Yakuza 4 and improved on it. Although I will say that this game is long. Like LOTR Extended Edition long. Because there is so much packed into this game including the main story, the substories, the four side stories that include a taxi cart racer, a hunting game, and a baseball minigame, the Hostess stories, the training masters, the Underground Colliseum, and all the usual minigames that show up in Yakuza games. This is a game that is going to keep you BUSY if you are a budget gamer. One of the big highlights for me is the combat which tight, versitile and impactful. It's spread out over 4 characters and each has their own skill sets that feels unique and varied. You have Kiryu who utilizes combos and strong counter moves, Saejima who is a tank who tanks through hits to toss enemies around, Akiyama who utilizes strong kicks to launch enemies into the air, and newcomer Shinada who is a scrappy street fighter and weapon specialist. Even Haruka gets in on the action by engaging in Dance Battles and talk shows as she works to become a Idol Star, something that I thought was a nice change for a female character instead of making her a badass fighter. The main story stands out to me as it does a fantastic job maintaining a coherent and consistent narrative across 5 different protagonists in different cities and scenarios. I found the overall sense of intrigue of underworld politics, the twists that connect the events of the cross-country story, a good supporting cast of side characters, and one of the greatest villians in the series. It does suffer from having events happen to make the plot move forward, major events happen off-screen, and some characters just vanish despite seemingly being a bigger deal, but they don't detract from a great narrative. Overall, I would recommend this game at full price as I think it's that good.

    Long, but Worth it!

In my opinion, this is one of the best games in the series. Just like in the previous installment, you have multiple protagonists, but this time, each has their own city to explore, and everything fits together pretty nicely. Each character has their own side story (not to be confused with substories), and even though they largely center around minigames, I found myself enjoying them quite a lot! These are almost exclusively things that shouldn't interest me at all, but they all found a way to hook me, and I played all the way through each of them. The rest of the gameplay is largely similar to that of the rest of the series... until you get to Part 4. Part 4 is just such an odd fit in almost every possible way, and I see what they were going for, but I wasn't a huge fan. The story is just what you'd expect from the series: same old over-the-top manly melodrama you've come to know and love, though this one comes with an ending that even got me all emotional. Instead, I'd like to talk about the other toppings, mostly the visuals. As I mentioned, each character has their own city, and these cities are GORGEOUS. You'll see a few familiar places, but the new ones are absolutely breathtaking; I found myself wandering for hours, just because I didn't want to move on. It's very rare that a game with a realistic visual style can grab me like this, but just about every place I went was exquisite. On top of that, the soundtrack is among the best in the series, topped perhaps only by Zero. If you're a fan of the series, this entry is not to be missed!

    Wasted Potential, Barely Yakuza content

CONDITIONALLY RECOMMENDED. If a) you are a RGG fanatic or b) do not care about plots or characters and want something to waste time on. Tl;dr - the plot is worthless, never develops from the premise and nothing new or exciting happens. It is about someone trying to take down Tojo and Omi and fake-killing people. No changes to it ever. The main antagonist turns out to be an old guy's cancer and the final boss is a side character. Old characters acting like pansies (Majima) and new ones deleted from the canon after this game. The script is almost as bad as the rubber-bulleting in Y4. The best content is SIDE STORIES. Everything else: lacking or deja vu. In fact every single side story plot beats the main story plot. Shinada's baseball content lasts about 2 hours. The game runs well. It has the adaptive detail adjusting feature based on available resources. Only the concert battles optimization issues. There are random crash bugs involving the scenes with Mack (a brief character). This game has a lot of similarities with Yakuza 0 and Kiwami 1. Short notes: 1. Everyone talking about dreams gets repetitive and meaningless fast. 2. The victory road qualifier thing for coliseum is tedius. 3. The gameplay templates Y4. 4. The idol thing is non-interesting besides the street dance battles. They have decent sound tracks, especially the hip hop one. 5. The best karaoke set, incl. the 1st appearances of Baka Mitai and Rouge of Love. 6. There is almost no yakuza content in the game. This game is about "Fulfiller of Dreams" (the JP subtitle) and yakuza have no dreams. If you want a yakuza game, play 0, 1 or 2 instead. 7. The game feels rushed. For example, Akiyama has no side story. 8. The five cities: different layouts, the exact same content. POINTLESS. 9. Shinada's story is clearly a J-Drama parody. Haruka is an idol, Saejima hunts and Kiryu taxi-drives. The theme is TV series. 10. The game'd been better with more play-testing and better plots and developed characters.
