Yakuza 4 offers a refreshing twist
Yakuza 4 offers a refreshing twist on the classic formula by letting you play as four different characters. The shift in perspective brings not only new fighting styles but also unique story arcs for each protagonist. This keeps the gameplay fresh and engaging throughout. Like other entries in the series, Yakuza 4 is a great mix of brawling, storytelling, RPG elements, and quirky minigames. The narrative is morally grounded yet often peppered with well-placed humor. A trademark of the series that works beautifully here, too.

4 of a Kind
After whatever experience Y3 provided, this one knocked it out of the park. Introduction of the 4 playable characters was really refreshing, and with their different fighting styles even scratched that Y0 & Kiwami 1 itch. Combat is fluid, substories are as high-quality as always, and minigames are of course present (if the rest of the game somehow isn't enough). The main story is well spread between the 4 characters, and is weaved together in a satisfying finale. A great game - and currently competing with Y0 for my fav in the (Kiryu) series.
