X-Morph: Defense Complete Edition includes the the following DLC's:
- X-Morph: Defense - European Assault
- X-Morph: Defense - Survival Of The Fittest
- X-Morph: Defense - Last Bastion
- X-Morph: Defense - Soundtrack

Unique fusion of a top down shooter and tower defense strategy. You are the X-Morph - an alien species that invades Earth to harvest its resources and terraform the surface. Strategize in the build mode by carefully selecting various types of alien towers or throw yourself right into heat of the battle. Build mazes for incoming enemies in an environment that provides exceptional planning freedom. Tear down buildings and collapse bridges to support your defense or to simply indulge in a spectacle of unprecedented destruction. Possess a range of unique alien weapons and use defense strategies like you've never seen before in this genre.

Your goal is to defend the X-Morph harvesters from waves of incoming human forces. Each enemy wave is preceded by a setup phase in which the player can check what types of enemies are going to be attacking him and to observe their paths. There is no time limit for this phase, so the player can carefully plan his defenses or choose to start fighting immediately and place towers when needed during the battle. One of the game's key features is the ability to build towers virtually anywhere on the map and to shape enemy paths by connecting towers with laser fences. The player can choose between building long mazes out of basic towers or placing more advanced towers which are more effective at different types of incoming enemies. Advanced tower types specialize in dealing with specific enemy types e.g. flame towers are great for destroying fast moving ground units, artillery towers are best at countering large groups of slow enemies, anti air laser is ideal for shooting down heavy bombers.

As the X-Morph fighter you can engage enemy units directly with a diverse arsenal of weapons. You can morph into four distinct forms which specialize in dealing with different kinds of threats. Each form has a basic attack and a special charged attack mode. The Plasma Fighter is the most universal form - good at destroying both air and ground units. The Dark Matter Bomber is great at decimating groups of ground units. It can also slow down time and release a dark matter bomb that can cut down buildings. The Shredder fighter is perfect for annihilating large numbers of human air units and clearing the sky. Finally the Laser Destroyer is best for smelting large single units. It can also charge up a gravitational anomaly that sucks in smaller enemy units. A large variety of weapons and enemies along with a dynamic, fully destructible environment provides a rich arcade shooter experience.

The game's environments are constructed with a lot of attention to detail and they are almost completely destructible. From small picket fences to huge skyscrapers. Any bridge or building in the game can be collapsed and it's destruction is dynamically simulated using realistic physics. The destruction is not only a visual effect as it can significantly influence the layout of the battlefield. The combination of dynamic environments, laser fences and real time calculated enemy paths creates unique gameplay scenarios.

Humans are desperate to defend their home world. They have created huge, building size, mechanical war machines to fight against each other, but now they will use them to destroy the X-Morph. Each boss fight is unique and heavily influences the gameplay environment. Entire cities will be destroyed.

X-Morph: Defence includes a split screen co-op mode. All missions have different gameplay scenarios designed specifically for co-op play. Enemies attack in larger numbers and from new directions making good cooperation essential to winning. In this mode the game can be played in many different ways, one player can focus on optimizing tower placement while the other shoots at enemies or they can both focus their firepower on the strongest attackers.

X-Morph: Defense - European Assault

This add-on includes a new story-driven mini-campaign happening on the European front. The action takes place parallel to the main story campaign. It focuses on European military forces trying to repel the X-Morph invasion. Wreak havoc across Finland and Holland before concluding in an epic, destruction-fuelled showdown at the Eiffel Tower in France. European defense forces use new experimental weapons that force the X-Morph to adapt and improvise new defense tactics.

X-Morph: Defense - Survival Of The Fittest

This add-on includes a new Survival campaign with 5 maps specifically crafted for this adrenaline pumping game mode.
BRITAIN - Fight an endless enemy assault in a rain soaked maze of cottages and canals.
FINLAND - Winter is already here, but it's not the cold that is your worst enemy.
SOUTH AFRICA - A dense night is waiting to be lit up by countless enemy explosions.
NETHERLANDS - Survive as long as you can in this seemingly idyllic landscape.
FRANCE - A city labyrinth that is about to become a graveyard full of metallic corpses.

X-Morph: Defense - Last Bastion

This add-on includes a new story-driven mini-campaign which takes the players to the most remote locations in the world, where the last humans have taken refuge. The events take place on 4 islands, each with unique features. Chop down massive baobab trees in the Madagascar, slalom among the Moai on Easter Island, reshape the environment in sunny Indonesia and try not to melt in rivers of lava on Iceland. 4 new enemy types round up the package, ensuring that the X-Morph: Defense storyline gets the finale it deserves.

X-Morph: Defense - Soundtrack

X-Morph: Defense original soundtrack, created by Paweł Stelmach, featuring 21 compelling music tracks.

Not a tower defense game

This is one of those games that I realised half-way through I was only playing it to get to the end; I wasn't actually enjoying it all. The reason I think is that, unlike a true tower defense game, you don't get the opportunity to carefully plan your defenses and a clever route and then sit back and watch the results. Instead, you get a level that is set up to give you just a few different ways of arranging your walls and then you spend your time in one of two annoying modes. Played like a tower defense game you get to live the life of an office cleaner, vacuuming up and down the level to gain currency to spend on more towers. Played like a shooter, you can select several fun weapons to destroy bad guys and be constantly irritated by air units attacking you. The upgrades you can unlock are okay but don't add much to the game, and because you're so busy vacuuming or swatting flies you can't really observe the effects of your tower placements. So I don't feel it's a tower defense game, and the price is only justified by the very good graphics and physics - but why does a tower defense game need good graphics?

Good game

As the price is reduced, I thought to give this game a try. Glad I did, the game is good and I got hooked quickly. Good combination of preparation and action phase, providing an Arcade game feeling. The tech tree is a bit confusing at first. Also worth the full price.

Started off fun...

While this started off fun, the game quickly becomes repetative and the shiny wears off. The DLC is basically reskinned from the original game, with the difficulty turned up. The use of actual tactics and trying to control the enemy pathing becomes pointless in favor of just mass spamming one type of turret repetititvely. I remember the original Herzog Zwei and while there is some resemblance, where Herzog Zwei was a shooter-RTS, giving you the ability to take territory and expand that territory, this is much more of a simple top-down shooter... and while you would be encouraged to think strategically and control the enemy pathing early on, the maps quickly become very hectic and strategy gives way to spam play. If that kind of frenetic spammy gameplay (action without much thought or strategy) appeals to you, then don't dismiss the game simply because of its title. But if you expect a tower defense with some thought, and a meaningful tech tree with actual progression... this will lose appeal at about 3/4th of the way through the campaign.

Extremely well executed

If you are looking for a fun tower defense, look no further. They execute the formula extremely well, and added a visual spectacle on top. This is everything I had hoped "Orcs Must Die 3" would be. Path manipulation is the name of the game, and nothing is more satisfying than pulling it off and seeing all the enemies funneled into your killbox and blown to smithereens! If thinks get to hectic for you, putting your fighter into "Ghost Mode" allows you to become completely invulnerable and focus on building and positioning your towers while collecting bonus ressources. To mix it up, enemies change their intended pathing - and more importantly, during the gameplay additional parts of the map will be added. This not only keeps things fresh and challenging, but also avoids overcrowding you with a large map right from the get go. I can't believe I am saying this, but this game is worth the full price. And if you see it on sale, do not hesitate! I haven't tried the coop yet, strictly rating the single player experience so far, but I'd just like to give extra points for adding a coop mode to begin with.

Nice game

Picked it up to support the dev and tide me over until Riftbreaker. This game is very fun. It's not much of a tower defense game in the traditional sense, like I'm going to set up my defenses and see how they hold up then do better. There is an element of that but for the most part you will be flying around and fighting with no time to really appreciate your strategy. It's still a very enjoyable game though with really nice graphics and large amounts of destruction going on at any one time. It's also nice to be the alien invader. For 6 bucks this feels like a great deal with nothing to regret.
