Description
The X3 Terran War Pack bundle includes X3: Terran Conflict, X3: Albion Prelude and X3: Farnham's Legacy.

X3: Terran Conflict (2008)
It is the year 2938. The long-anticipated encounter between the X Universe and the Earth brings both joy and sorrow. Despite flourishing trade, the clash of the races, cultures and life forms leads to new tensions, mistrust and eventually open conflict!

X3: Albion Prelude (2011)
X3: Albion Prelude plays in the time between the old X Universe and the new. It shows a universe in flux, and prepares players for things to come. The old X Universe is passing; a new X Universe is about to be created.

X3: Farnham's Legacy (2021; Game available in English and German, only on Windows)
Developed by a dedicated group of players from Egosoft's DevNet community, X3: Farnham's Legacy is a new game in the X3 space game series. Set in the years after X3: Albion Prelude, as the chaos caused by the gate shutdown really takes hold, X3: Farnham's Legacy starts very differently to previous games in the X3 series. Trapped in an isolated area of space, you'll first need to make use of the new exploration features to find your way back to civilisation. Then, once you're there, you'll be able to use the new diplomacy options to help shape your relationships with the factions you find.

For those who enjoy space AND space sims

I'm an all life fan of space and all things related to it and games are no exception. Buying this game I expected it to be like Elite Dangerous and, well, I indeed have similar impressions for it. Pros: 1) Space feels realistic, it's huge and empty enough so one can enjoy the view of it. I love this feeling in ED, that's why I find it so enjoyable. Although, I can fully understand those who are used to playing more action-packed spacesims with much shorter distances and less time to travel with nothing happening at all. 2) To be able to enjoy vast and empty space there gotta be something to stare at while one's flying. Lots of planets, asteroids and overall background look pretty good 3) There are about 10 plot lines in this game, each with different starting conditions so there is always something to go towards. Plots themselves vary in length and interest but overall they are ok. 4) Unlike other similar games, you can buy and place your own stations, making whole production complexes which will give you passive income. Cons: 1) Slow-paced gameplay. It goes down from point 1 in pros - great feel of space results in that you will spend most of the time flying in space with nothing happening around. This can be either boring or meditating, depending how much you like space itself. 2) Repetitiveness. There are a lot to do in this game but ultimately it goes down to grinding more money to do something (which is not bad on its own but for some plot line it's required to get like 400 million credits, which is A LOT, and getting ) 3) There is not much sense in different starting presets as they only change your starting sector and your ship/equipment and have no effect in the plots. There could be some character creator instead. Overall it's a good and enjoyable game with some repetitiveness which, I may say, is usual for this genre. If you like spacesims and you don't mind long and slow space travels then I definitely recommend giving this game a try.

Great game, so many ways to play.

This is a fantastic sandbox space sim, with the ability for you to play in various ways. Be a pirate, fighter pilot, fleet commander, trader or miner. Become a company manager, buy and run an empire of space stations. Play the stock market. Operate ships ranging from transports, to fighters, bombers, corvettes, missile frigates, destroyers, carriers, it's all here. There are so many possibilities. It can seem a little daunting at first, but start small, get to know the mechanics. There is also plenty of additional info and help available online. Great gameplay and an update called Farnham's Legacy added as recently as 2021. One of my favourite space sims. 👍

Very nice game, poor Linux package

I have been playing X3: Albion Prelude for a while now on my Linux system. The game itself is very immersive and I enjoy the sandbox do-your-own-thing style of the game. But I found the GOG Linux package to be below par: 1. The Albion Prelude addon is missing most (all?) voice files. Adding a few symlinks to the Terran Conflict voice files worked around most of the problems, but not all. This is apparently a known problem that has been there for a while. Users should not have to deep-dive into the forums and mess with the installed game to fix glitches like that. 2. No Bonus Pack included. Sure, Egosoft released the BP for Windows only, but it is reportedly possible to get it working on Linux if one is willing to fiddle with WINE. But AFAICT the BP is not in the Windows GOG package either... 3. The game was consistently crashing - I worked around the problem by replacing some of the bundled libraries with the ones from my system. This problem could be attributed to me using a non-Ubuntu system, but it also seems that Egosoft has released a more recent Linux build that is supposed to fix some of these issues. It would be very much appreciated if GOG would release an updated package for Linux...

Micromanagement heaven

The X3 games go beyond "large". You start out (in most starting situations) with a small, light fighter craft with limited capabilities (some start with guns, some without). Crossing a sector seems to take forever (there are a LOT of sectors, some small, some huge, linked by either jump gates or accelerators) , and the game starts out rather slow and boring. After making a few credits and gradually upgrading your ship's speed, weapons, cargo capacity, and various software systems, and other equipment, you're not even scratching the surface of the game. Now the sectors don't seem h\quite so huge or boring. By mid-game, the time spent crossing a sector will be fully occupied by managing your fleets of transports shipping trade goods around the known universe (not even including your autonomous traders working without your direct supervision), sending combat ships (including various classes of capital ships) to protect your massive factory space-stations (or mega-complexes composed of up to hundreds of stations) from pirates, alien enemies, or rival factions, and taking on increasingly large ships and then fleets in combat missions, IF you choose to do so. You can play this as a trade game, a combat sim, or whatever mix suits you. It's one Ginormous sandbox, and whether you choose to pursue the main questline for the mission rewards, take on one or more corporation plots, or your own blend of Trade, Build, Fight, and Think, as the games advertise, is totally up to you. If you can deal with the intense later-game micromanagement and the early-game tedium (especially in the huge Terran sectors), this may be just what you're looking for. If you just want a casual space combat game, the long stretches between stations and sectors will bore you to tears, even with fast-forwarding the time.

X3 Albion Prelude, the best X3 game.

X3 Terran War pack, brings X3 Terran Conflict and X3 Albion prelude. X3 Terran Conflict is an evolution of X3 Reunion, graphic improvements, new sectors and ships. It has several plots that are very good. X3 Albion Prelude is one of the best X3, It has the plots of X3 Terran Conflict and other new ones, it brings new sectors, more ships, it adds the stock market and we see the conflict between the Terrans and the Commonwealth of Planets, I recommend 100%.
