Break the rules and take full-contact racing to the limit with Wreckfest!

Expect epic crashes, neck-to-neck fights over the finish line and brand-new ways for metal to bend – These are the once-in-a-lifetime moments that can only be achieved in Wreckfest, with its true-to-life physics simulation crafted by legendary developer Bugbear, who also brought you FlatOut 1 & 2!

Burn rubber and shred metal in the ultimate driving playground!

Wreckfest is jam-packed with upgrade and customization options. Whether you are preparing for your next demolition derby with reinforced bumpers, roll cages, side protectors and much more, or setting your car up for a banger race with engine performance parts like air filters, camshafts, fuel systems, etc., Wreckfest is shaping up to be the best combative motorsport game out there.

Drive hard. Die last.

Unique Racing Experience

Exhilarating no-rules racing action with defining, once-in-a-lifetime moments that can be achieved only with a true-to-life physics simulation. Witness insane neck-to-neck fighting on high-speed circuits, face total destruction madness on crazy courses with intersections and oncoming traffic, or go for demolition dominance in derby arenas.

Awesome Cars

Our cars are old, banged up, patched together... They ooze style and character! From old American heavy-hitters to agile Europeans and fun Asians, you won’t find anything like this in other games.

Meaningful Customization

Change not only the look of your cars but also upgrade their body armor – Reinforce them with heavy iron that protects you from damage, but also adds weight, which impacts the cars handling. Modify your car to make a robust tank or a fragile but lightning-fast rocket, or anything in between!

Multiplayer

Wreck your friends online and take racing to the limit while chasing for demolition dominance!

Challenge modes

Have hilarious fun with lawn mowers and upon release also with crop harvesters, school buses, three-wheelers and more!

Career mode

Battle for championships, earn experience, unlock new upgrades and cars, and become the all-time Wreckfest champion!

Diferent point of view.

This review is mainly for offline players. I have this game on steam since its development started. They claim "back to the roots" (I think first Flatout) but it ends in between Flatout 2 and something different. The first and main problem is (if you are offline player) the AI. While you control car with semi-simulation physics, your opponents don't use simulation. And it is too obvious. If you don't like those AI behaviour you will be disappointed. If you don't know what I am talking about, it means that no matter how you are good, opponents are always better. They can dissapear on corners, while you have to break. Another problem is in demolation derby arenas, they allways well know what are you doing and it start to be obvious when you try hit a car but you miss it because physics are not implemented into AI, that means they accelleration is much different then yours. Another issue is camera (I don't like camera behind car, because is set too low and you don't see a road), Flatout 1 had much better camera behind car. There is offline tournaments you can progress, but the objectives and missions are bad explained and sometimes they can be acomplish very quickly and sometimes they are near to imposible, Some tracks are good (they are from first Flatout or another games) and some are bad and most of them are boring. I love first Flatout tracks they are very good designed. Overall game looks like unfinished or like mod for some game. If you want play a game online or with friends, or you don't mind about AI and camera, it is not that bad and you can add into my rating 1 - 2 starts.

This is great! Especially for Carma fans

So, this is my initial impressions - I bought this game yesterday and have played it for about an hour so far. First the gotcha's... #1: when I tried to run the installer, I got an error that one of the parts couldn't be found. Long story short, I started my download from Gog.com *just as v1.0j was being posted*, so my first 2 parts were v1.0i, and subsequent parts were the newer version. The fix was simple, I just had to re-download the new parts 1& 2. I mention this in case it bites anyone else in the future. Gotcha #2: on my system at least, the game takes a few seconds to start, during which nothing appears to happen. Just wait 10 secs or so and it'll appear. Don't click the icon again because the game gets confused. My PC is an 11th Gen Intel Core i9, so not exactly low-end. Now the praise! This is a really good racing game, with a great selection of vehicles out of the box. Even a Reliant Regal 3-wheel van! The handling model is just the right balance of arcade/realistic, and I **love** that I can create local servers for LAN co-op play with my friends against bots. Not enough games do this - I've been stuck playing the likes of Age of Mythology and BF1942 for waaaay too long just for their co-op LAN play. I really, really don't want to play across the Internet against strangers. And to my amazement... this game includes maps from Carmageddon! Yep. The "Bleak City" and "Desert" maps from Carma1 are faithfully reproduced here (sans the blood and gore of that game), so you can incongruously race high-detail vehicles around a pixelated 90's map. It's fun! Honestly, I spent way too long just tooling around Bleak City in a combine harvester, chasing after a bot in a schoolbus - muhahahah! Short version: buy it. As others have said, GOG needs to have more AAA racing games and this one is WELL worth the money. Hats off to the developers!

The best racing car game for me!!!

What can I say about this wonderful game. It is ultra complete. As much in its single player content (although a bit repetitive but it's often like that in games of this kind) as in the multiplayer. The music is great. The game looks good (although there is a bit too much stuttering but it doesn't spoil the fun). The driving experience is exhilarating. Not too much simulation, not too much arcade, just right. You can modify your car as you wish (acceleration, speed, car defense...). And of course, the best of all. The damage management is just crazy. Everything is possible. No car game offers such a possibility (except BeamNG, but it is not on GOG). In short, I've been doing everything in my power as a fan for years to get it on GOG in drmfree. I have contacted over the years, GOG, THQ, Bugbear etc... And finally it is available. (I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the folks at GOG, THQ, Bugbear who made this release possible. I hope we'll be treated to future games that Bugbear will create when they are announced). As you can imagine, this release is very important to me. So go for it if you haven't bought it yet.

Great game, progression w/offline/online

Since this is not a super competitive racing game I love the fact that you can progress completely offline through the campaign or just free play offline, plus playing in multiplayer online. This is what GoG is about, I love it, I support it, and this game brought many smiles to my face when playing that I haven't had in a while in games. The physics and smashing other cars, with choices of what drivetrain mods and armor you added, and visual mods you can do in game are just astounding. Hats off to the developers, it is so hard to find this nice mix of game play in a racing game today. It's not really a complaint but I do prefer true open world play so even a small hub "world" that you could drive through to get to the other races would have been even better. It's jarring (to me) the pick another level and poof you are there. Maybe that's just me though. That being said, I never felt so constrained in the races as I do in many (most) racing games today.

Recommended, but only on sale.

Had a more positive review written but I've done some brooding and I think this needs an update. GOOD: - Graphics are very crisp, no framerate cap so it works very well on high refresh rate monitors, and will run on pretty much any post-DX10 GPU without breaking a sweat. - Great physics, both the car deformation and the driving. - Sound is fantastic, minus the music. - Proper manual and clutch simulation (sorry if you're American). - Base game car lineup is good, not many of them but they're quite varied and pretty well balanced. BAD: - Track variety is the exact opposite. It has many tracks but most are bland, poorly laid out and samey. - The crashes feel pretty "doughy" at times and the damage you deal is very inconsistent. - Menu music is trash, race music is ok but you can't hear it 'cause of the engine. - Bland and repetitive campaign, even for a closed track racing game. - No way to get the backer car on GOG, no way to get the console exclusive car on PC, Bugbear in general has a history of treating it's backers like trash. Lastly, they committed what is probably the worst type of sin they could have for a game like this: They botched the derby mode, it has 3 variants and all of them bad: - Last Man Standing, has you driving around in circles waiting for your opponents to kill eachother, - Deathmatch, has you abusing the reset function to rack up score as quickly as possible. - Tournament, also relies on abusing the reset to rack up score, except this time it also throws a broken combo system into the mix along with randomized arenas, some of which are way too big too actually keep the combo up. These are issues none of the Flatout games had. I haven't read the credits so I don't know if these are the same people who made Flatout, but if they are, then this is one of the worst cases of mass amnesia that I've ever seen because they've forgotten pretty much everything they learned from that game. Kudos for the DRM free release but that's about it.
