great rpg
this game is really great, i got the original imported version as a kid for my birthday, one of the best presents i have gotten. There are vast options for your party, a lot of fun spells, fun items like bard instruments or engineer machines. But also great serious loot like the black sword fang, a lightning sword, paralyzing lances etc. There is much to explore and there are great rewards for doing so. But there are also terrible dangers. This game has a LOT of enemies, and they each have their own little tactics. You will start to hate or fear a few, you will look over your shoulder and hope that big pack of wasps isnt coming for you. Certain places also have special encounters that are really difficult, but you will feel really good when beating them. Also, the music in this game is really great. Overall, the game just has this vibe when i play it...it draws me into its world.

Wizardry 8
I've played this through a few times. I didn't have message boards the first time and created a monster party. Took 1 round of melee to kill the final boss. At first, this bothered me. The final battle isn't where this game shines. The politics between factions, the character creation and development, and combat make this game shine.

Thank You!
Thank you to all the people who've played this game before. You have been a big help to me. I like crpg's but have never played any of the Wizardry games before. This one is complex and a little hard for me to play (I'm on easy mode) but you are all right. The battles can be a grind and the respawning is annoying, yet the game is still fun. I have a feeling I will play this one many times like I've played many of my other turn based games. I didn't realize that I could play with only one person and that more players would only make the game much more slow and hard until I read all the reviews. Would it be to my advantage to restart with one player and add more as I go along or should I stick with my six players? Will I meet more people that I can add to my party later on? I am near the beginning in the dungeons now. Most of my players are level four. I would like to know if I should I retrace my steps to try to do the entire dungeon or keep moving on? There are so many ways to turn. Thank goodness the automap is excellent. This is definitely one of the most intricate rpg's I've ever played. I just finished Oblivion. (Skyrim is beyond my poor upgraded to the limit Pentium IV). This game is good for me because I like the turn based games. It's too bad they don't make them anymore. If you know of any I might like, please let me know.
