great game one of the best flight sims and a great story and a first rate cast like mark hamill and malcolm mcdowell and tom wilson and john rhys davis i cant recommend this gem of a game high enough a must buy in my opinion

This game doesn't feel like something from 1994, this was definitely ahead of its time. The graphics are stellar and the controls feel right. The plot will keep you entertained, and it needs quite a bit of manual reading to get used to the controls and gameplay. Although the missions get a bit repetitive after a while, the combat is always fun and rewarding. You'll like this if you're a fan of spaceships and science fiction drama.

I love this game and it was fun playing around 10 first missions, however some of the later (escort) missions are bugged and do not allow you to complete properly, i've tried ejecting but that leads to the losing story line.

Wing Commander III was certainly not the most innovative game, nor a revolution in terms of gameplay. It was however a graphical as well as atmospheric milestone which contributed undeniably to the importance of sci-fi-games in game history. There is one thing about WC3 that I remember passionately: it was one of the first big games that required 8 MB Ram - which was not quite common to have in 1995. So for myself as well as a lot of other players that I knew in the very beginning it remained kind of "dream" to play this game: "Man, I need 8 MB of Ram to finally being able to play WC3". Some time later I finally had to computer to play it accordingly - and I certainly must have played it about 3 times or so. My favorite actor was John-Rhys Davies who gave the game and the atmosphere a very specific and unmistakable note. Noteworthy is furthermore George Oldziey who composed the great theme to this masterpiece. And finally, when mentioning WC3 and WC4 I like to remember Jason Bernard alias Captain Eisen. Unfortunately he died in 1996, a short time after WC4. His memory lives on with these games.

A+++++! i have been trying for the last eh several years to get this up and running, I had thee psx version and the pc version, but wanted to play this again and failing miserably! (my first pc was not much well looked after) and thanks to win7 being so difficult to get ANY game working in, I thought i would never play this again! well...everything in this release works perfectly! this release of wing commander is an absolute MUST HAVE FOR ANY FANS!!!
