Wasteland Remastered

It's Wasteland, what's not to like? Preordered despite the fact you should never preorder. Bit disappointed coz bugs. And controls. And localization (German in my case). Seriously people, give me a job, I think I can do this equally badly. Anyhow, upon announcement I was quite ecstatic when I saw this has controller support. After playing for the 1st hour there's not that much ecstasy left. Of course it is not a typical controller game but this could have been done better anyhow because it just feels wrong and requires some tweaking. I hope it gets a couple of much-needed updates soon, but how this got released in its current state is a mystery to me. One more thing, but this is just personal preference. The graphical style seems a bit unsuitable to me. Wasteland should be more...gritty. Three nostalgia points now, bumped up to five once patched. After all it's Wasteland.

If you were thinking "the old one is too hardcore for me so I'll try the remaster", don't bother. Mechanics were not updated, difficulty just wrong, graphics not charming in the slightest. If you liked the original and have money to spare, your choice. If you never understood what's great about the original, this won't make you. It's just a bad game all over. At least the original is, you know, the original.

Never have I been so happy to learn that an old game which I didn't even know I needed was remastered! It's not trivial by any means, in fact I needed quite a bit of assistance in some ways (certain things were not very intuitive to me, for example: you have to deliver an item to a dude in a bar and you must position yourself in a certain way and than use the item on a chair right across from the guy instead of simply coming up to him and puf! situation resolved...this specific example I had some difficulty with even after looking up what to do :) but it got progressively better after getting used to certain ways the game works) but it didn't spoil the fun for me one bit - those are just some quirks that reflect the decade of release I suppose. And there's a bunch of them, I must've missed who knows how many oppotunities to use skills that I chose but never really utilised, tried to hire enemies, killed NPC's unwittingly but none of that spoils the fun! If I had to mention one gripe that I have with the game is that the random encounters are incessant, fairly usefull for gathering experience but on the other hand you can barely walk ten paces without getting assailed several times which is a bit annoying if you just want to finally reach that shop across the road. :) It's quite apparent where most of inspiration for Fallout came from. Must say that I've not experienced any bugs that I read about in other reviews, must've been polished by now. Thoroughly enjoyable!

This is an insult to call a "remaster". It's buggy and broken. Simple as that. OH! And be warned that they have retconned the lore to accommodate the identity-politics obsessed radicals that want to rewrite the English language and change pronouns and binary gender identity. Save your money.

Very cool, but how about macOS? I don't believe that there is no mac in the list of supported platforms...
