5 CHARACTER CLASSES, each with unique skills and customisation: a soldier of the Empire who can take heavy damage, a Dwarf specialised in melee combat, a High Elf who deals ranged damage by manipulating magic, a Wood Elf who lays deadly traps and wields the bow like no other, or a versatile Dwarf Engineer who can blow off steam, literally!

AN XXL BESTIARY with over 70 monsters aligned with the Chaos Gods and unique bosses. Battle Nurgle's minions, Khorne's spawn and waves of other vile creatures!

Had Potential

This game had some potential to be great. It was on the right track for some things, but completely failed at core arpg elements like itemization, level design, and skill variety. The fact that you don't get any unique aka heroic items until max level makes me wonder if the developers ever actually played an arpg from start to finish.

gets boring very soon

At start the game seemed great: good athmosphere and gameplay. But unfortunately it gets boring very soon. You're always doing the same. The quests are basically always: go to the sewers and kill everything. Then you go back to the questgiver. Repeat. The walking back and forth alone makes it boring. This game could've been great but there's too much wasted potential. My advice: Get it on sale and have fun for one evening.

Competent but not amazing Diablo clone.

This is a fun ARPG, with decent pacing and action, a passable story, but lacks any big spark that makes it really shine. The big draw is the Warhammer fantasy setting, and if you're a fan like me, that's enough. A bit iffy at full price, but on sale, my recommendation is unreserved.

Weekend At Magnus'

The game has decent bones: The graphics transport the Warhammer fantasy nicely, and the combat is smooth and fast. The big issue is that there is just too little of really anything: - You have a bare handful of stats, a very few item rarities, and *no* options which gear to use - The - short! - levels are basically really just roads from A to B (where you sometimes spawn a ways in, so it looks like there are two directions, but one just is a dead end), and they all pull from a pool of maybe ten different tiles per tile set, making almost every level of a set feel exactly the same - The main campaign can be played through in about five hours, and you likely will hit level cap before that - Some mechanics are introduced way too late; You can improve your items with Fragments you find from the start, but the option to actually do it unlocks about 75% into the main campaign. - Way too easy. The closest I came to dying during the campaign was going down to 80% HP during a boss battle where I had not been paying attention due to boredom Get it on a sale for under 5€, and it's a fair deal and decent way to idle away an afternoon or two fighting the Chaos Gods, but Chaosbane lacks any staying power, and even the 5-7 hours you'll spend until you kill the Big Bad will have you feeling bored at times because the environments and enemies have already repeated so much you lose a bit of sense of time.
