Dakka, dakka, dakka!

+Dakka! +Waaaaaaaagh!!! +Crumpin' humies -Crashin' of'en Really enjoyable shoot'em up with nice graphics and a variety of weapons. Warhammer Orkz on plus. Unfortunately there are often crashes, it kicks you to the menu and then closes the game at random moments, like level changes. Loading could also be faster between levels.

Good Couch Coop Experience

I couldn't speak about the game experience in single player, but I finished the game with a friend who came over in about 5-6 hours and we had a great time. You can play the game with several players on the same screen using several controllers. The game will crash at times (is crashed 3-4 times for us and we had to restart parts of some levels), but otherwise provides a good experience. I'm not familiar with the Warhammer universe, but there was a decent variety of human, orc and occasionally other alien enemies combined with a decent variety of guns to tackle them in different ways. You'll find yourself switching guns often as different guns shines with different types of enemies and terrain layouts (There are around 20 guns total and we were regularly using at least 10). The game tends towards easy though you'll probably find some boss decently challenging and you'll find yourself wondering which tactic to use with which guns at times. It felt like a little bit of a shame that you cannot use all your guns at once (the games has 5 categories of guns with 4 different guns for each category and you can carry only one gun per category at any given time). However, you can swap your guns at specific points in the game (several times per level), by pressing the up arrow. We only found out about that after we had completed about 50% of the game. The game is pretty forgiving in terms of death. If one player dies, he can respawn after a short duration as long as the other player lives (though he needs to give half his health to the other player). If both players die, they need to respawn at the last save point, though there are several per level (and always one right before each boss). The story of the game is silly, funny and over the top and makes for a good coop experience too. It is mostly visual, it has very little dialog and it is silly and funny. A lot of silly jokes about unsophisticated orcs are at the forefront. You will have a good time.

Platforming Mayhem in the key of Ork

Shootas, Blood & Teef (TBF) is a frenetic and frequently chaotic mix of Warhammer 40k and Metal Slug. The game is gorgeous, with a cartoonish style that perfectly captures the vibe of the Orks and the depictions of various factions and their units. What I thought was going to be a short jaunt turned into a 6 1/2 hour romp through loving 40k Fanservice, where its a lot of fun reading the background posters to see the cute twists they put on various catch phrases. The game oozes character, with spot on voices and acting, a rocking soundtrack and the right level of 'oomph' to the effects. While the controls are responsive using mouse and keyboard, I had some moments where it didn't move the way I wanted, or my mouse movements sent the aim everywhere, but thats partially user and partially just minor annoyances. In the time I played, I had three crashes max. With the difficulty, I did a self-inflicted Hard mode run off the get go, where most of the game wasn't too bad, but half a dozen encounters took a fair few attempts. A few of the bosses were curiously easy, particularly with the weapons loadout that I found to be my preference. With the weapons, I didn't feel much of an urge to stray from one particular weapon in each group. Unfortunately there are a number of multiplayer achievements, however from my time looking I wasn't able to find any games, so it'd be a case of finding someone else with a copy to play multiplayer rather than hopping into random matches. All in all, I had a lot of fun and I can really recommend it.
