Command a squad of up to 20 Space Marines and pursue the evil Chaos horde though the Warhammer 40,000 universe! CHAOS GATE is squad-level, turn-based tactical action that pits you against Chaos Lord Zymran, in an attempt unravel the mystery of an ancient relic.

Your command begins with a choice: pursue the game plot immediately or take on any number of random missions to gain experience and power for your squad. Whichever you choose, prepare for the unexpected – and tactical combat that’s utterly out of this world!

As SSI’s second entry in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, Chaos Gate marries the lore of the 40,000 universe with the strategic depth of an SSI game and creates an engaging experience that further glorifies the Emperor and the Adeptus Astartes’ Legacy.




  • Battle Chaos Space Marine forces and their daemonic allies across the galaxy in a Campaign of 15 linked scenarios or explore randomly generated missions to gain power for your Ultramarine troops.
  • Create and customize a squad from a Space Marine contingent of 50 different soldiers, each with unique characteristics and capabilities - including Terminators, Assault Marines and Devastator Squads.
  • Build custom missions with the extremely flexible Mission Editor.

Doesn't work

Sadly the game doesn't work. It runs well until you want to start a mission, when you do it crashes

good as i remember it even with the bugs

geting it to start was a trick but once i knew the trick it plays fine only problem i have is the landspeeder dose not move anyone have a fix for that bug

Doesnt work right now

Game doesnt work - at the start I get a image from the game repetead 3 times at the top of my screen, whats more its black and white, mouse unresponsive. Waiting for fixes.

Fantastic, but needs fix for Win 10

As other users on the site, very happy with this game. Great gameplay, great nostalgia. It's not compatible with Windows 10, however, and so I am eagerly awaiting a fix for the game until then. Would highly recommend otherwise.

Start at 10 windows And XP

Not on 10 windows, not on XP did not start. To solve the problem, he went to a local forum. The advice from MerryClown https://www.gog.com/forum/warhammer_40000_chaos_gate/crashes_to_desktop_issue helped. On the 10th while it is working (the first mission did not try much). Patch from here downloaded https://www.gamepressure.com/download.asp?ID=75937 . P.s. in the place of moderators I would add it to the game.For windous XP need another patch.
